There are many ways for modern people to acquire information,among which the most basic and commonly used one is reading.Reading is an effective way for many L2 learners to accumulate vocabulary and improve their L2 level.This paper takes the middle and advanced level international students of Beijing Foreign Studies University as the research object.Investigates their Chinese extracurricular reading by means of questionnaire and interview,then analyzes the questionnaire data,and sums up the causes of the problems.Finally,forward some suggestions on Chinese extracurricular reading for advanced foreign students in the non-target language environment under the network environment.There are five chapters in this paper:The first chapter is the introduction.Firstly,introduces the reason of the topic,and then expounds the research objectives and significance of this paper.It combs the relevant literature from three aspects:the current situation of extracurricular reading research in second language,the current situation of extracurricular reading research in Chinese as a second language and the impact of environmental factors on Chinese learning,finds and summarizes the areas that need to be improved,and clarifies the significance of this paper again.Finally,some core concepts are defined.The second chapter is the introduction of the related theories which play a supporting role in this paper.We selects schema theory and input hypothesis as two related theories.The former explains how students accumulate language knowledge and cross-cultural knowledge through knowledge system from the perspective of cognitive psychology;The latter emphasizes the importance of comprehensible input.Both of them are of great theoretical significance to the suggestions and methods finally put forward in this paper.The third chapter is to show the results of the questionnaire.Before showing the data,we introduces the dimensions of questionnaire design and the implementation methods.Then through the combination of charts and tables,the collected answers and information are processed and displayed in a simple and clear way.Chapter four summarizes the common problems based on the survey results and analysis in chapter three,and further analyzes the causes of the problems in the process of Chinese extracurricular reading,which lays a good foundation for the effective suggestions of this paper.In order to make the middle and advanced online students in the non-target language environment more efficient in Chinese extracurricular reading,and effectively improve their Chinese level through Chinese extracurricular reading,this paper puts forward some suggestions and methods in Chapter 5.
