| The late Qing Dynasty was a major turning point in China’s political history.Foreign Western powers frequently harassed them,and the government of the inner Qing court was mediocre and corrupt,and the social future and destiny were worrying.Facing the predicament of death,the advanced scholars tried to find a way to save themselves,which is embodied in literary writing.They created a batch of unique utopian novels to inspire the wisdom of the people.They use their literary imagination to plan another China in these novels to express their protest against the dark reality and their desire and pursuit of ideals.Through the utopian imagination of the intellectuals in the novels of the late Qing Dynasty,we can see the historical changes of the society in the late Qing Dynasty and the change track of people’s ideas.Therefore,on the basis of close reading of the text,the author attempts to use interdisciplinary research methods such as literature,history,and narratology to systematically study the utopian writing in the novels of the late Qing Dynasty.Analysis and other aspects to explore its rheological characteristics.This article mainly contains three parts:introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction mainly summarizes the concept of utopia and the definition of the period of the late Qing Dynasty,summarizes the existing research results,and points out the significance of this article.The main body contains three chapters:The first chapter mainly analyzes and researches the description of the abnormal time and space involved in the Utopian novels of the late Qing Dynasty.It mainly includes two parts:the construction of the dream world and the imagination of the ghost world.In the first part,by analyzing the descriptions of the ideal kingdom constructed by dreams in works such as "Future of New China","New China","New Stone",and "Speaking of Dreams",it can be found that the description of the ideal utopia by the novelists in the late Qing Dynasty is closed loop The change toward opening up reflects the change in his concept of time and space;the second part is to comb through the imaginary descriptions of the ghost realm in the underworld in the late Qing novels such as "Mengping Ghost Slave","Underground Travel",and "The Soul of Constitution".The change in the attitude of the scholars towards ghosts and gods in the late Qing Dynasty alluded to their satirical criticism of the dark reality of the late Qing Dynasty,reflecting the author’s strong sense of responsibility and mission.The imaginary description of the abnormal time and space in the above two parts reflects the gradual change from the self-centered arrogant and closed time and space concept of the scholars in the late Qing Dynasty to the open.They took the initiative to incorporate late Qing China into the world map and began to reposition themselves.The second chapter mainly analyzes the description of transportation image in the novels of the late Qing Dynasty.It mainly includes two parts:air transportation and water transportation.Through the analysis of the writing of the imagery of new vehicles such as balloons,speeding cars,ships,etc.,we try to explore the metaphorical meaning and other cultural functions beyond the tool functions hidden behind them,and explore the historical features of the society in the late Qing Dynasty and the writing methods and writing methods of the novelists.The focus of aesthetic interest is to understand the useful attempts of late Qing novelists to transcend the finiteness of individual existence and open up a new living space,as well as their thinking about the state of existence and the meaning of life.The third chapter mainly analyzes the disease writing and treatment methods in the novels of the late Qing Dynasty.By analyzing the description of disease symptoms and corresponding treatment methods in novels such as "Moon Colony Novels","Nuwa Stone",and "Awakening Techniques",it can be found that the focus of disease writing by novelists in the late Qing Dynasty has shifted from individual to social collective.He consciously plays the role of "doctor",from "medicine" to"brainwashing" to "waking up",tirelessly searching for feasible Chinese methods to treat the sick.The metaphorical writing of diseases and treatment methods reflects his body concept.Changes and a great increase in the sense of social responsibility and collective anxiety. |
