Study On The Notion Of "Sanmu" In Chinese Classic Book Zhuangzi

The study of"useless tree(sanmu散木)"thought in Zhuangzi can be divided into four aspects.Firstly,this paper defines the research premise and boundary.On the one hand,The study of "useless tree" belongs to the study of thought,which can naturally be observed by a variety of philosophical "prejudices",and can be understood as one from side to side.On the other hand,it belongs to the study of the Pre-Qin Philosophers,which is inevitably influenced by the early voices of the philosophers--Laozi and the Analects of Confucius,and is in the special context of the contention of the philosophers.The research belonging to a specific historical period cannot exist without the background that "trace" and "so trace" are separated and the background of "Taoism will split the world".Secondly,this paper summarizes the theoretical origin,specific elaboration and object of contention of "useless tree" thought in Zhuangzi.The thought of "useless tree",as the thought of emphasizing individual existence in Zhuangzi’s philosophy,is not only derived from "ancient Taoism",but also the inheritance of "moral" theory in Laozi.The specific theory is embodied in the transcendence of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi’s consistent thought,and the transcendence of "returned to its original nature" after carving and becoming a utensil,that is,the transcendence of "useless tree" over the wood that can be used as utensils.The thought of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi on "useless tree" have both consistency and emphasis.Laozi focuses on the ontology of sages with Tao in the world,while Zhuangzi focuses on the individual ontology of "there is no Tao in the world,and sages are born".The thoughts of the Analects of Confucius on the use of utensils,and form and contents are the objects of reflection and contention of thoughts of "useless tree" in Zhuangzi.Thirdly,this paper based on the internal evidence and philosophical interpretation of Zhuangzi’s "useless tree" thought.The study of "useless tree" is based on the text of Zhuangzi.Specifically speaking,the text basis of the thought of "useless tree" is mainly based on the various statements in Zhuangzi about ailanthus,oak and all kinds of wood that can’t make a tool in Renjianshi,Xiaoyao You and Shanmu.This paper concludes and interprets his philosophical thought,which is embodied in three groups of relations: "useless tree" and return to things,"useless tree" and carefree,"useless tree" and no utensils."Useless tree" and return to things,focusing on affirming that objects do not come from objects,rather than objects do not interact with objects."Useless tree" and carefree,focusing on the construction of secular differences,prejudices on "useless tree"(individual)coerced,rebuild the spiritual home of existence--"the land of nothingness"."Useless tree" and no utensils,talking about the way of survival of the decaying "useless tree",as well as the role of the way of survival of "useless tree" in the continuation of blood clan,"human god community",cultural blood and so on.Finally,this paper discusses the relationship between "useless tree" thought in Zhuangzi and its creative subject.Zhuangzi is the work of Zhuang Zi and his later studies.It seems that the creative subject of the thought of "useless tree" should also be Zhuang Zi and his later studies.However,Zhuang Zi’s later studies to follow his doctrine and writings,and did not become a separate faction,and it is not enough to be regarded as the main creative subject.So Zhuang Zi is the direct creative subject of "useless tree" thought in Zhuangzi,and Zhuang Zi has dual identities,respectively are "adherent of the Song Dynasty" and individual person.As for the former,Zhuang Zi directly created the thought of "useless tree",but it is the symbol of the ideal personality of "adherents of the Song Dynasty".Zhuang Zi’s creation must be deeply influenced by the whole group of adherents of the Song Dynasty,so they are also the indirect creative subject of the thought of "useless tree".As for the latter,the thought of "useless tree" in Zhuangzi is closely related to Zhuang Zi’s personal experience and sense of hardship.
