This paper takes the character design of animation as the research object,and expounds the current situation and future development of China’s animation industry in the new era,At the same time,this paper sorts out the related academic achievements of domestic animation character design research,and points out the characteristics and shortcomings of character design by taking domestic excellent 3D animation the young royal guards and foreign excellent animation film Zootopia as the analysis objects.At last,two methods of animation character design,objective realism and subjective realism are put forward.With stories about ming dynasty as a basis,design a complete set of animation character design.Based on this logic,this paper mainly consists of four parts:the first chapter,on the one hand,expounds the current situation and future development direction of domestic animation industry in recent years,on the other hand,summarizes the relevant research directions in China.The second chapter,starting from the case,analyzes the two domestic and foreign three-dimensional animation works the young royal guards and Zootopia,and summarizes the characteristics and shortcomings of their character design.The third Chapter through the analysis of the character design of the young royal guards and Zootopia,propose two methods of character design,objective realism and subjective realism,and summarize the basic content of a complete role design scheme.The forth chapters,taking the objective realism design method as the core idea,based on the stories about ming dynasty,integrate the visual elements of Ming Dynasty into the design of animated characters.On the premise of respecting historical facts,complete the animation character design.The fifth Chapter,summarize own weaknesses and the links to be improved in the creation and plan the further design in the future.Practice has proved that the design ideas proposed by the author can be applied to the design of desktop game characters.
