Research On Du Fu’s Mourning Poems And Articles

Du Fu’s mourning poems and articles refer to poems and articles written by Du Fu for mourning,remembering the deceased at the same time,and mourning the ancestors.According to this definition,it can be determined that Du Fu’s mourning poems have a total of 29 questions and 36 poems;the mourning essays include sacrificial essays,epitaphs,and inscriptions,a total of 6 mourning poems.As far as the history of Chinese literature is concerned,before Du Fu,the development of mourning poems and articles went through three historical periods,namely,the beginning of the Qin Dynasty,the forming period of the Han Dynasty,and the maturity period of the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties.During this period,a large number of literary figures represented by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty,Cai Yong,Pan Yue,and Yu Xin created a large number of mourning literary works and spread them.In the Tang Dynasty,where Du Fu lived,mourning poems and articles ushered in their heyday.Du Fu’s mourning poems and articles learned from the three levels of language,genre,and imagery,which were very specific and complete.Du Fu’s mourning poems and articles contain sincere and deep emotions,and the use of allusions is intensive and ambitious,with distinctive personal characteristics.In terms of content,Du Fu’s mourning poems and articles include three levels:"remembering the dead and mourning grief","recalling the injustice and self-sorrowful life experience","sighing the old and cherishing the virtuous and self-reporting aspirations".He takes care of the situation of the person being mourned,his own situation,and social reality.Du Fu’s mourning articles have special documentary value in the study of Du Fu’s family history,communication and thoughts,and it has a far-reaching influence on Han Yu’s mourning essay creation and even the ancient prose movement initiated in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.The "Eight Sad Poems" in Du Fu’s mourning poem adopts the form of"historical biography in rhyme",which is very exemplary in the history of Chinese mourning poems.Later generations gave mixed reviews on the "Eight Sad Poems ",and the study of the "Eight Sad Poems "showed the characteristics of no longer pursuing the grandeur of the content,expansion of the genre,and no restrictions on the number of poems and the objects of mourning.Du Fu’s "Two Slogans for Survival and Death " created a precedent for mourning others in a parallel way of "one death,one survival",and there are many learners in future generations.Its parody shows the expansion of the object of mourning,the increase in the number of poems,and it is no longer limited to the juxtaposition of life and death.Du Fu’s other mourning poems did not form a paradigm in the history of mourning literature like the two poems "Eight Sad Poems" and " Two Slogans for Survival and Death ",but the sentences in them were often imitated and used by later generations.Therefore,Du Fu’s mourning poems have been integrated into the Chinese mourning literary tradition.
