| Strategy 2030 Operational Plan for Priority 5:Promoting Rural Development and Food Security,2019-2024 was issued by Asian Development Bank(ADB),which clarified the strategic measures of ADB to promote rural development and food security,aiming to improve market connectivity by transforming agricultural value chain links.The ADB will continue to eradicate extreme poverty by combining funds,knowledge and partnership,and make continuous efforts to make Asia and the Pacific region more prosperous,inclusive,adaptable and sustainable.As the third largest shareholder of ADB,China actively participates in ADB affairs and plays an important role in the formulation of ADB strategic policies,business operation and regional economic cooperation.Translation of this text will help China better understand ADB’s action plan and carry out more intensive international cooperation.Moreover,this year is the decisive period for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way.There are many hard tasks that must be completed in the field of "agriculture,rural areas and farmers".Under the complex situation of increasing downward pressure on the economy and profound changes in the external environment,it is of special importance to do a good job in the "agriculture,rural areas and farmers".ADB’s practices in rural development and food security can also be the enlightment for China.Therefore,it is of practical significance to translate this text.The translation practice report takes Strategy 2030 Operational Plan for Priority 5:Promoting Rural Development and Food Security,2019-2024)as the original text,to do the translation from English to Chinese.Under the guidance of Nida’s functional equivalence translation theory,this report explores the translation methods and skills of economic texts according to the characteristics of economic texts in terms of vocabulary,syntax and discourse.The problems in the translation practice are mainly divided into the translation at the lexical level and the translation of long sentences.The translator adopts the translation methods such as semantic extensions,part of speech transformation,addition and subtraction.Moreover,changing order,splitting up and voice transformation are also employed to solve problems.By using such translation methods,the target language becomes more expressive and fluent,which better reflects the expression effect emphasized by functional equivalence theory. |
