Response inhibition is an important function of executive control, which refers to the suppression of inappropriate behaviors and the maintenance of goal-oriented behaviors in a constantly changing environment. With the further exploration and study of response inhibition,it is found that according to the "control type" and "stop mechanism" standards inhibitory control can be divided into several types of response inhibition(Aron,2011),including the reactive inhibition, proactive inhibition, global inhibition, selective inhibition, and other inhibitions that result from the interaction of two standards such as reactive global inhibition, reactive selective inhibition, proactive global inhibition, and proactive selective inhibition.Daily life is relatively changeable, and the inhibitory ability needed in different situations is diverse,so the normal inhibitory function is the premise to ensure the high quality of life. However, patients with impaired inhibition often fail to control their behaviors effectively, with obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD)as a typical example. From the behavior and the system level to analyze such patient’s response inhibition ability, this way can not only understand its potential pathological mechanism and can provide a reference for similar clinical treatment of mental illness on the basis of such as schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)and Parkinson’s disease(PD).Obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD)is a mental disorder composed of two dimensions of symptoms--persistent intrusive thoughts in the human brain and obsessive physical(hand washing, checking, sorting)or mental behaviors(praying, counting, repeating silent vocabulary)caused by such thoughts(American Psychiatric Association,2013).Because of the influence of repeatedly being influenced by the intrusive concept, the patient has negative emotions, such as anxiety and depression,so the patient compulsively performs a certain action to eliminate such negative emotions.Another reason for not being able to control their behavior effectively is that people with OCD have a weakness in response inhibition,an executive function.Since there are many types of inhibition, the behavior and neural mechanisms of patients under different types of inhibition should be comprehensively measured.Previously,it has been found that patients have impaired inhibitory capacity in reactive as well as proactive inhibition and associated brain structure and function in patients are abnormal, such as the inferior frontal gyrus, striatum, globus pallidum, subthalamic nucleus and its neural pathways--the frontal-basal ganglion-thalamic network(Aron,2011).In this study, the modified stop signal task was used to measure the behavior of different individuals in different types of response inhibition, and to explore the effects of individual measurement and increased task complexity on the completion of response inhibition tasks. The study was divided into two experiments. In both experiments, the difference between normal individuals and individuals with high compulsive tendency in compound inhibition was investigated by separate measurement. The purpose of experiment 1 was to compare the differences in response inhibition in different types of normal individuals measured separately and mixed. In experiment 2,individuals with high compulsive tendency were screened out by self-evaluation,and the same experimental procedures as well as materials were used to measure and compare the differences of individuals with high compulsive tendency in different response types.Conclusion:Experiment1:(1)compared with the mixed measurement,it was found in the separate measurement that the proactive global inhibition was faster than the reactive global inhibition in the inhibition speed.(2)in both the mixed measurement and the independent measurement, stop signal reaction time of global inhibition was the shortest, and the difference between the compound inhibition was significant, including reactive selective and proactive global inhibition, and proactive global and proactive selective inhibition.(3)when measured alone, task difficulty mainly affects "global" inhibition, including reactive global inhibition and proactive global inhibition.Experiment2:(1)the difference in the stopping interference effect was not only reflected in different measurement methods, but also existed among the subjects.Different subjects adopted the method of independent measurement, but the stopping interference effect of individual proactive selection inhibition with high compulsion tendency was small, while no difference was found among ordinary subjects.(2)the difference between individuals with a high compulsive tendency in different inhibitions is mainly reflected in the "readiness state".Compared with the proactive selective inhibition, individuals in the reactive selective inhibition have a longer stop signal reaction time.(3)the differences in inhibition among individuals with different compulsive tendencies are reflected in the global inhibition.
