As the world market becomes more open and competitive,effective supply chain management is the key to the success of an enterprise.Supply chain management in China is a new industry which is not as advanced as that of western countries.Therefore,the translation of foreign books in this field may provide some reference to the logistics industry in China.The source text is taken from two papers on supply chain management from the book Supply Chain Management and Logistics:Innovative Strategies and Practical Solutions.The book was published by CRC in 2015.The main content of the source text is about increasing the resiliency of local supply chain distribution networks against multiple hazards and nested partitions for large-scale optimization in supply chain management.The translation practice is conducted under the guidance of Translation Shift Theory proposed by Catford.Translation methods are studied in detail during the E-C translation of the logistics text.The translation report is divided into four parts.Chapter One is translation task description,including the background,significance and textual features of the translation task.Chapter Two covers the translation process,including preparatory work,translation procedure and quality control.Chapter Three presents case analysis,which mainly explores the methods and techniques for E-C translation of the source text at lexical,syntactic,and discourse levels,with the guidance of Catford’s Translation Shift Theory.Chapter Four is the summary of translation task,including difficulties in translation process and approaches to the difficulties.In conclusion,such text is of high formality and Translation Shift Theory plays a vital role in the translation of the text.Through this translation practice,the translator has enhanced his understanding in Scientific and Technological English texts.It is expected that this translation practice can enrich the logistics translation in China and provide references for prospective research in the relevant field.
