| As one of the important language output skills,writing can fully reflect the language application and expression ability of English learners.It has always been one of the most difficult problems in the process of English teaching in high school.How to carry out effective English writing teaching is the focus of English educators.Some studies have shown that chunk can help language learners to internalize their knowledge and improve their proficiency and idiomatic level in the target language.A chunk is a series of characters stored in mind,which is a fixed or semi-fixed pattern.It has a relatively fixed grammatical structure,limited stable collocation meaning and specific pragmatic environment,and combines the advantages of grammatical semantics and context,which contributes to the fluency of speech production and idiomatic word selection.In order to explore the influence of chunk teaching method on high school students’ English writing ability,this study takes a high school in X city as an experimental school.Based on Huang Wenzhen’s teaching method,Zou Wenfeng’s O-H-E teaching method and Qu Dianning’s D-P-P acquisition model of chunk,this research constructs a combined teaching model of chunk,which is suitable for English writing teaching.A thirteen-week teaching experiment was conducted to explore the improvement of writing ability of these students It shows in three aspects of the accuracy of words,the authenticity of language and the fluency of language.This research is aiming to answer the following two questions:(1)How does lexical chunk teaching affect students’ English writing.(2)How does lexical chunk teaching affect students’ interest and enthusiasm in English writing?After exploring the above two questions,the following conclusions are as follows:(1)The lexical approach can effectively improve the English writing level of students.This teaching method improves the students’ knowledge of chunk and the ability to use chunk,and the number of chunk use of the experimental class shows its advantages obviously.The writing text has significant advantages in the three aspects of the accuracy of words,the authenticity of language and the fluency of language.(2)The teaching method has enhanced the students’ interest and enthusiasm for English writing.This teaching method helps to overcome students’ fear of writing,cultivates self-confidence in writing,and the process of input and output of chunk stimulates students’ interest and enthusiasm in English writing,it is good for students to improve their English writing ability.This study focuses on the methods to improve students’ writing ability.It reveals the influence of the chunk teaching method on students’ English writing ability.It points out the influence of the teaching method on the teaching of English writing in high school,and constructs teaching mode of the chunk,which is applied to the teaching of English writing in high school,which has a positive guiding significance to the teaching mode of English writing at this stage. |
