Writing is a significant language output skill in English.As for English teaching,the cultivation of English writing ability is a crucial part in the development of English comprehensive ability.The English writing level of a high school student also directly reflects the students’ comprehensive ability to apply English.However,the current writing situation in high school is worrying.Students are facing many obstacles,such as lack of vocabulary,improper use of grammar,Chinglish and so on.How to improve high school students’ English writing effectively has become a difficult problem for language education researchers.Lexical chunk teaching approach is a teaching approach that has been paid more and more attention in recent years.A lexical chunk is a linguistic concept proposed by Becker.Students’ memory burden is reduced by learning and using chunks.Chunks can be extracted and used without much consideration of grammatical rules.Many studies show that lexical chunk teaching can enhance students’ writing ability.They can write a more accurate and native-like essay than before.The main research method of this study is to carry out comparative experiments.In order to verify the effect of lexical chunk teaching approach in senior three English writing,the author selected 50 students in two parallel teaching classes,Class 10 and Class 12 in Changchun Foreign languages School,as subjects,The author randomly assigned a class as an experimental class and a class as a control class.The teacher teach both classes.The experimental class adopts lexical chunk teaching approach,while the control class adopts the traditional teaching approach.In the course of the research,the author makes a comparative analysis of the students’ English writing scores in the three model examinations in Changchun,and therefore the teaching effect of lexical chunk teaching approach can be known.In order to understand the students’ actual views on lexical chunk teaching approach,the author also interviewed some students at random.Following questions are expected to be answered by the experiment and the interview:(1)Can lexical chunk teaching effectively improve the English writing level of senior three students?(2)How does lexical chunk teaching help students improve their English writing?(3)What are the experiences and problems in lexical chunk teaching?Based on the experiment and the interview,the author finds that lexical chunk teaching can effectively improve the English writing level of senior three students.After the lexical chunk teaching,the vocabulary used in writing is more authentic,the grammar is more accurate,and the writing level has been greatly improved.The lexical chunk teaching model(recognition-input-consolidation-test)is an effective way to help students memorize and use lexical chunks.In this study,lexical chunk teaching brings relatively efficient learning methods to senior three students in coping with the confusion of college entrance examination,improves their writing scores,and boosts their interest in writing.
