This article will take Xiao Yuncong’s works painted for Zheng Shijie in 1653 as the subject matter.In this works,there has one painting show that the upside down mountains and the Buddha statue,which call Xue Hongguzi.And the painting call Imitation Guan Tong show the world like the Peach Garden.All the information show that it may affected by cave paradise.Since there is no special research on this subject matter yet,so my article is relatively new.I want to explores his artistic interests from this subject matter.In the first section of the first chapter,I will talk about the situation of each work.Then I will talk about the the artist’s imitancy and background behind each work.However,there is no direct modeling at Xiao Yuncong’s works.He turn it into his own language form his own unique style.In chapter two,firstly I summarize the formal connotations in the each work.Then I find some works are likely express Spirit Mountain,Cave Paradise and the Peach Garden view.At last,I find the upside down mountain may be related to stalactites.Clues can be found in his painting call White Horse Hill,Taiping landscape painted in 1648.Also can found from his trip in Jinxi in 1652.Xiao Yuncong was interest about Cave Paradise,Celestial Being and historical stories and painted of his hometown with such subject matter.In addition,we can also from the discussion between Xiao Yuncong and Hong Ren learn that he used to like painting wonderful mountain,which reflects his painting contains imagination and creation.In the third chapter,I discuss the poems written by Xiao Yuncong,his friendships and the religious background of the society at that time.Ming Dynasty Zhu Yuanzhang’s "three religions into one" atmosphere was the religious background of the time.In addition,Xiao Yuncong as a "survivor" of the late Ming Dynasty,adopted the lifestyle of "Taochan".He lived in seclusion and burned incense daily.Such scenes of life are painted in Xue Hongzi,the character in red who setting in front of the Buddha maybe Xiao Yuncong himself.All of this show Xiao Yuncong had Seclusion thought.
