The Research On The Poetry Of Xiao Yuncong

Xiao Yuncong, the famous painter between late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, is regardless of the founder of the faction of Gushu. He had studied painting since childhood deligently and hardworking. The year Chongzhen eleven of Ming Dynasty, Xiaoyuncong participated in Fu association with his brother Xiao yunqian. Entering the Qing Dynasty,he seclusionde forest. His poetry and painting are both excellent, as he wrote a lot of poetry, and he has remaining works of figure painting Lisao Map and landscape painting Peace landscape map. In this paper, search methods of literature research, case analysis and so on, and the perspective of adherents and painters are used, for the exploration and analsis of Xiao Yuncong’s poetry.This paper is divided into four parts:The first chapter is to discuss the overview of Xiao Yuncong’s poetry overall.His poems can be divided into three parts: poems praising object, landscape poems and poems recalling antiquity. His poems praising object take the three durable plants of winte as the main object of the echo, to praise the elegant and aloof style of the gentleman, and to place on the personality-seeking of remaining faithful and unyielding. The landscape poetry mostly use lyrics gimmick with uncluttered style. The poet hides deep love on the beautiful hometown country side in the plain narrative looking on coldly. Poems recalling antiquity embody the poet’s pursuit of art, ambition of reclusion, and the love to his hometown when remembering the great strategist HuanWen, great poet li bai, and sages in poet’s hometown.The second chapter specifically discusses the pictorial poems of Xiao Yuncong, which is the focus of this article. First of all, the pictorial poems can be classified as three categories from the content: one is to describe the content of the picture, and to refine the spirit of painting on this basis. The second is to introduce the origin of the painting or drawing process. The third is to express emotion by right of painting with clever play. Secondly, the chapter discusses the artistic feature of "harmony of poetry and painting" in the pictorial poems of Xiao Yuncong, which reflects on the fusion of color, sound. Finally,the chapter analyzes the interaction effection on the artistic inspiration in poems and the poetic in painting. Poetry can supply the shortage of the painting on theideographic aspect through stating the artistic inspiration and positioning the keynote of the painting. Painting can effect the content and style through certain lines, composition and painting style.The third section is to discuss the thinking features of Xiao Yuncong’s poetry,which mainly reflect in three aspects: the adherents mood, the socially-conservative thought and the seclusion tendency. Firstly, his adherents mood is embodied in the change of life interest, from the Literati ambition of benefiting mankind and socially-conservative into adherents attitude to avoid officer for seclusion. Secondly, he has a deep sorrow on the country. He once lifted up a cry “No one helps in face of much difficulty, a leaf hides all the wit in the world” with an extreme worry on the rulers’ fatuity and social injustice. Finally,the seclusion tend of Xiao Yuncong becomes more obvious after entering Qing dynasty. He expressed his Fear of officialdom and enjoyment of carefree mountain life with verse "fear the wordly dust, be rare is the hill birds’ trace ".The fourth chapter is to summarize artistic features of Xiao Yuncong’s poetry,which mainly discuss from three aspects : the Art gimmick, rhetoric and the language. Firstly, The technique of false or true complement makes the state more remote. Secondly, the Frequent use of allusions enhances the force of artistic infection.Finally, the language of Xiao Yuncong’s poetry is artifice and fresh.Artifice is derived from the poet’s carefully consider, which enhances the accuracy of language performance. Novelness is due to his innovation consciousness, which causes an aesthetic effect of defamiliarization.There are two innovation points in this article: firstly is the topic is novel.Xiao Yuncong is a famous painter, with a higher literary attainments. his painting has got wide attention and research, but few people pay close attention to its poetry achievement. While this paper devotes to the poetry research of Xiao Yuncong, to study his vivid characteristics of poetry as a painter, to explore the characteristics of his poetry from the identity of the adherents, as an unique perspective. Secondly, the subject is of great significance. For Xiao Yuncong,Chen hongshou and other famous painter between late Ming and early Qing dynasty, most people focus on their glorious painter reputation, but the study of his poems is the weak link of current academia, which subject to keep digging.Therefore the writing of this article is of great significance.
