The study of archives scholar is an indispensable content of the study of archival academic history.From the 1930 s to the 1940 s,China’s archival science was formed and continuously developed with the joint efforts of the historical,administrative and educational circles,and archives scholar was the living foundation of the academic research of archives,which made great contribution to the formation and development of modern archival science in China.Due to the commonalities and connections between scholars,they formed different groups.At present,academia pays more attention to the study of archives scholar groups in the administrative and historical circles.These two groups are mainly distinguished according to the identity of the scholar and their focus of the research content.The research object of this paper is a scholar group of the Boone Library School in the Republic of China.Their relationship is mainly based on academic affinities,supplemented by professional affinities.Therefore,the Boone Library School’s Archives Scholar refer to the archives scholar who have studied or worked in this school.They have been engaged in archival education or archival practice,participated in archival research and achieved some results.The Boone Library School is the material foundation and spiritual bond that this group can form.This paper makes a comprehensive comb of the historical materials of archives,the literature of the Republic of China and so on,and strives to complete the group.We not only pay attention to the contributions of famous people,but also try to reveal the participation of non-famous people,puts the individual in the group,analyze their characteristics,and studies their academic Evolution process.The archives scholar group of Boone Library School is an important force in the development of modern archival science in China.Studying this scholar group can enrich the research content of the academic history of archives and the history of archival undertakingThis article includes four important parts: The first is an overview of the archives scholars group of Boone Library School.Defined the concept of archives scholar,delimited the category of the Boone Library School’s Archives Scholar,and analyzed the social historical background,theoretical research background and special education background of the formation of this group;The second is the composition and characteristics of the Boone Library School’s archives scholars group.Analyzed the composition of the group,discussed the characteristics of the scholar group in terms of age and gender,knowledge structure,organization and exchange of academic research,and combed the academic research results of archives scholars;Third,the content and characteristics of the academic research of the Boone Library School’s archives scholars group.The main contents of scholars’ academic research include the basic problems of archives,the method of archives management,the study of archives organization and administrative research and the study of the history of Chinese and Western archives.The study of scholar groups presents three characteristics:inheritance,reference and jingshi-zhiyong.Fourth,the contribution and limitation of the Boone Library School’s archives scholars group.This paper analyzes the contribution of this group to the development of modern archival theory and practice in China from three angles:academic research,archives education and archives work practice,and points out the limitations of the scholar group.
