Abstract/Summary:
Behavioral words about mouth is a special verb,which is closely related to human mouth and proceed actions by virtue of its special functions.In daily life,it is very high that the frequency of behavioral words use and occurrence,and it also causes extensive attention in the field of linguistics.This thesis took Chinese monosyllabic verbs of mouth as a breakthrough point,then analyzed and compared them in cross linguistic with Thai verbs about mouth.Next,this thesis collected numerous corpus from Chinese and Thai language to analyze descriptively the semantic of monosyllabic verb of mouth,then drew the semantic map of Chinese and Thai to find out the similarities and differences between them,which could provide some inspiration and reference for the teaching of Chinese vocabulary as a foreign language in the future.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly briefed the concept of semantic map,research objects,significance of topic selection,research methods,sources of corpus and innovation of this thesis,then reviewed the study of semantic map at home and abroad.The second chapter discussed the semantic map of Chinese monosyllabic verbs of mouth.At first,this chapter organized the Chinese and Thai monosyllabic verbs of mouth and selected the appropriate word group in terms of the features such as the frequency of use and coefficient of difficult.Secondly,this chapter illustrated the original meaning and derived meaning of Chinese and Thai monosyllabic verbs of mouth.At last,this chapter drew respectively semantic map based on the comparison between Chinese and Thai monosyllabic verbs of mouth.The third chapter discussed the teaching of monosyllabic verbs of mouth,and started from the basic principles of Chinese teaching and combines with the basic situation of students such as the motivation of learning Chinese,learning condition of monosyllabic verbs of mouth to make a questionnaire survey,so that it would be clarified that the features of Thai students’ biased error to learn monosyllabic verbs of mouth.chapter is based on the teaching strategies of monosyllabic verbs proposed in the previous parts.At first,this chapter took relevant theories of semantic map as the guide and conducted the experimental teaching in practice,then the teaching effect was tested with the “Likert scale” of language competence designed by author.Next,after analyzing the scale data with SPSS software,the conclusion was drawn out.The fourth this thesis summarized the use of Thai students’ monosyllabic verbs of mouth in semantic map,and proposed the teaching strategies.Besides,it tries to apply the new model of semantic map to the teaching in other countries,and explores its application in the students’ homework.The fifth chapter made a general summary for the conclusion of this thesis.
