Hunger is one of the main threats to human existence,and it is also an important subject in literature.From Du Fu’s poem "sanli"(literally three officials),which describes the hunger of the lower-class people,to the modern Lu Ling’s novel "the Guo Su-e in Hunger" laments the hardships of the poor people’ life,hunger writing becomes the epitome of an era.In the literary novel creation in the new period,the writers inherited the tradition of Chinese literary hunger writing,and have a new expansion in the way of writing hunger and its main thrust,the representative of which is Zhang Xian Liang.Zhang Xian Liang’s novels write about hunger and hunger experience in extreme environments,and his writings are rich in personal hunger narrative and documentary hunger writing,which has had an important influence on contemporary Chinese literature.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part introduces the current research status of hunger writing,and thinks that on the basis of the existing research results,there is room for further research on the motivation,art and narrative value of hunger writing in Zhang Xian Liang’s novels.The first chapter,combined with the hunger writing in Zhang Xian Liang’s novels,analyzes the specific content of hunger writing from the three aspects of hunger,sexual hunger and mental hunger,and shows the daily life of people in special times and the "after-effects of hunger".The second chapter explores the motivation of the writer’s hunger writing.Zhang Xian Liang writes about hunger,one comes from the traumatic memory of the writer caused by the experience of individual hunger,the other is from the writer’s strong sense of social responsibility,and the third is the writer’s mentality of sharing experience beyond suffering.The writer thinks that satisfying the material needs of human beings is the key to the establishment of human subject consciousness,and also the premise of man’s transcendence of suffering.The third chapter analyzes the narrative features of the hunger written in the novel.On the formal level of the novel,Zhang Xian Liang’s intentional artistic technique shows the style of the work,and the inner angle,the desired angle of view and the philosophical tone of the novel’s people’s survival,human nature and other related issues have made the form of evidence.The fourth chapter discusses the value and significance of hunger writing in Zhang Xian Liang’s novels lies in restoring human nature,criticizing the extremely "left" politics,and reflecting on the personality of intellectuals.In short,Zhang Xian Liang through the novel’s hunger writing,showing the real history of hunger and the survival of human reality,mining the historical causes of national disaster,for individuals,countries,nations out of hunger suffering to provide reference suggestions,people should construct the spiritual world of human beings,should also meet the material needs of human beings,while his pen of hunger writing to show intellectuals’ rational thinking and writer’s human feelings,for readers to interpret history and human nature left ample room for thinking.
