| This report is based on the translation practice of Curriculum Guides for International Students of Shandong University of Finance and Economics.The translation task includes a total of ten curriculum guides for exchange students,undergraduates,postgraduates and doctoral students.The target readers of this text are international students.Curriculum Guides for International Students are mainly used to convey study requirements of different programs for different students..This translation task will help international students better understand the requirements of the school and will also facilitate the staff of the International Students Office to manage international students.The report mainly consists of five chapters.Chapter one is task description,which introduces the task background and text analysis of the source text.Chapter two describes the main translation steps,including the preparation,the specific translation process and the proofreading,and discusses the problems encountered in the translation process.The third chapter is the theoretical framework,which introduces Peter Newmark’s Text Type Theory and its application in this practice.In the fourth chapter,the translator dwells on how to use the strategies,such as long and difficult sentence reconstruction,omission and parallelism,to solve problems under the guidance of communicative translation and Text Type Theory.The last chapter is a summary,which summarizes lessons and experiences the translator learned from this practice. |
