The Studying Of Female Social Rescue In Southern Area Of The Yangtze River During The Ming And Qing Dynasties

Chinese traditional society has a long history of rescuing women.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,with the development of traditional Chinese philanthropy to its peak,the social rescue for women in Southern area of Yangtze River also developed to a new stage,with a more complete scale and a more complete system.The discussion of this paper mainly focuses on the following parts:The first chapter analyzes the background of the rise of women’s rescue in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties,including the ideological background,economic background and social background.The second chapter discusses the rescue of women in Southern area of Yangtze River by the Ming and qing dynasties,including the rescue of ordinary women and the rescue of special groups,that is,the widows,baby girls and elderly women,and analyzes and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the government’s rescue policies for women.The third chapter discusses the rescue of women by the folk charity organizations in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties.The author explains the relief organizations,the source of funds,the object of rescue and the contents of rescue,and finally evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the relief of women by the folk charity organizations.The fourth chapter discusses the succor of the clan to the female group in the south of the Yangtze river during the Ming and Qing dynasties.The fifth chapter discusses the selfrescue of women in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties,including the conditions,measures and effects of self-rescue of women in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties.In the sixth chapter of this paper,the author mainly analyzes the general characteristics of women’s rescue in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties,the impact of women’s rescue in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties on women and society,and the enlightenment of women’s rescue in Southern area of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing dynasties on women’s rescue behavior in later generations.Finally,in the conclusion part,the author further analyzes the significance of this topic,and points out that this topic in the future research can be developed,hope that this kind of concern about women’s relief business can be more later explored and discussed。In a word,in the Ming and Qing dynasties,there were the government,folk charity organizations and clan work on rescue women.There are baby girls,widows and older women has been rescued.The relief methods are divided into in-hall relief and out-hall relief,which mainly include providing shelter,food and clothing,money,education and coffin.In addition,in the Ming and Qing dynasties,women in the south of the Yangtze river had a preliminary sense of independence and self-improvement,and many women with the ability to work began to actively engage in agriculture,handicrafts and commercial activities,so as to improve their own situation and achieve self-help.Through the analysis of the above contents,the author summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the predecessors in the social relief activities for women,in the hope of providing inspiration and reference for the future social philanthropy for women.
