| The promulgation of the English Curriculum Standards of General High School based on English Subject Core Competencies has made how to achieve core competencies in high school English teaching a hot topic in high school English curriculum reform.Integrating core competencies with teaching objectives for teaching design effectively is the most important step in this process.English reading teaching occupies a very important position in English teaching,and it is of great significance for cultivating students’ English Subject Core Competencies.The instructional objectives design of English reading teaching determines whether English teaching can effectively guide high school students to use critical thinking to analyze and comprehend reading texts,thereby forming good reading habits,mastering positive reading strategies,improving reading levels,and then improving their English acquisition level.So how to design teaching objectives for English reading teaching in senior high school based on English Subject Core Competencies is worthy of further study.Based on Zone of Proximal Development and Constructivism Learning Theory,with the research methods,case study,classroom observation and interview,this thesis studies the four English teachers in senior two of Affiliated Middle School of Henan Normal University and six English exemplary lessons of senior high school in Henan Province of 2018.The purpose of this thesis is to know the following two questions:(1)What is the current situation of the instructional objectives design in English reading teaching based on English Subject Core Competencies in senior high school?(2)What are the strategies for the instructional objectives design of reading teaching based on English Subject Core Competencies in senior high school?This study found that,firstly,English teachers in senior high school did not pay enough attention to the designing of teaching objectives in reading teaching and the description of teaching objectives design was not standardized.Among the six teachers’ teaching objectives,the four aspects of the English Subject Core Competencies were reflected,but language competence accounts for the highest proportion,followed by cultural character,thinking qualities and learning capabilities account for the least.Secondly,the designing of teaching objectives should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ core competencies of English subject.The designing of instructional objectives should be flexible,clear and measurable.It should also be based on students’ situation and teaching texts.Based on the above conclusions,this thesis proposes the following four strategies for the instructional objectives design of reading teaching in senior high schools.(1)The design of teaching objectives should be based on the English Curriculum Standards of General High School and thoroughly implement the students’ cultivation of English Subject Core Competencies.(2)The design of the teaching objectives of reading teaching should be based on the analysis of teaching materials,grasp the overall reading teaching goals from a macro perspective,and study the text deeply from a micro perspective.(3)The design of teaching objectives for English reading teaching should be based on the students’ situation and exploit the students’ background knowledge.(4)The instructional objectives design of reading teaching should be elastic,the expected results of teaching objectives should be directed to students,and the objectives design should be clear and detectable. |
