A Study On The Development Of Korean Popular Music(1907-2019)

Korean popular music has become the brightest star in the world’s public music field of vision in the 21 st century after more than 100 years of honing.As a window facing the world in Korean national culture,it has become the synonym of "new music" culture in Korean modern society because of its unique art form and music style.Although this kind of music form was born in South Korea,it developed with the world music market as its goal.The content research of its modernization process has also become an important research content in the field of mass music.From the long history,it is not difficult to see that Korean popular music came into being in a turbulent war era.No matter during the 35 years of Japanese occupation or the Korean Peninsula civil war,it failed to stop the development of Korean popular music.Even in the special period of economic and social difficulties,it is still inspired by the difficulties and actively absorbs foreign excellent music culture,thus forming the rudiment of Korean popular music.The success of Korean popular music is not only a reflection of cultural achievements,but also involves the consciousness and form of society,people and government.Therefore,when studying the development and change of its music style,it is necessary to explore its cultural factors and era factors.Because of its worldwide spread and development of popular music,Korea is considered by many scholars to be one of the most successful countries in the development of popular music so far.From the perspective of music research,it is indispensable to explore the impact of Korean popular music ontology and its social culture.Compared with the development of many kinds of music,Korean popular music has produced many representative music styles,such as trot,new folk songs,lyric songs and K-pop visual popular music,in the process of its development,because it has accurately explored the most suitable and relatively stable development path for its national conditions.This series of relatively perfect music styles constitute the main body of Korean mass music,and also clearly divide the inheritance age of mass music,thus forming the music closely related to economy,society,politics and culture,and leading the development of world mass music with its outstanding value attitude.This paper will study the development style and changes of Korean popular music from the perspectives of history,sociology and musicology.It will focus on the part of Korean popular music culture,in order to make a more detailed and comprehensive study.Starting from the source of the development of Korean popular music,this paper explores the formation of its representative aesthetic process,so as to break through the shackles of language and conduct a more comprehensive and in-depth study of Korean popular music.
