Thailand is a large agricultural country with superior natural conditions.Rice cultivation has a long history. In Thailand’s traditional agricultural development model, the main purpose is to increase the total yield by expanding the area of cultivated land. After the Second World War,with the continuous growth of the population,Thailand’s agricultural arable land border continued to advance to the frontier areas, and the expansion of arable land area gradually faced the limit of growth. In the 1960 s,Thailand introduced the "Green Revolution" technology from abroad. The technology is centered on the selection and promotion of modern high-yielding rice varieties, increasing the input of industrial fertilizers, pesticides and pesticides, combined with irrigation water Development, implement more efficient agricultural management, and finally realize the transformation from extensive agricultural development model to intensive agricultural growth model. This article looks at the first 20 years of the Green Revolution in Thailand from the 1970 s to the1980 s.It examines the changes in agricultural technology accompanying its extension and the changes in social, economic, and ecological environments caused by changes in agricultural technology. The first chapter defines the important concepts included in the study of the Thai Green Revolution, briefly reviews the academic history of Thai Green Revolution research, and elaborates the academic value and practical significance of this subject. The second chapter summarizes the domestic and international motivations of the Thai Green Revolution, and points out the historical inevitability of the introduction of Thai Green Revolution technology. The third chapter summarizes the process of popularizing and disseminating the Green Revolution technology in Thailand, and summarizes and analyzes its implementation effects.Through research,it is believed that the promotion and dissemination of green revolutionary technology accompanied the advancement of Thai agricultural scientific research and the development of agricultural infrastructure construction,to a certain extent, promoted the increase of Thai food production, but its promotion and application showed obvious regional imbalances. The fourth chapter analyzes and evaluates the impact of Thailand’s promotion of the green revolution. It believes that it has exacerbated the widening of the gap between the rich and the poor in rural areas, promoted the transformation of agricultural production and management methods, and caused serious ecological damage.Through research,I believe that the green revolution is an important attempt in the development of Thai agriculture. It is consistent with the trend of agricultural modernization. Its development is complementary to the industrialization of Thailand. However,in terms of ecological benefits, the green revolution technology is highly controversial. From a development perspective, the technology is unsustainable.
