A Preliminary Study On The Early Bronze Mirrors In China

For the development of the ancient bronze mirrors in China,the early bronze mirrors in China is quite important part.The early bronze mirrors are not only the origin of the ancient bronze mirrors,but also initial development.Based on the comprehensive information of bronze mirrors in China,this article uses the method of archaeological typology to establish the stages of early bronze mirrors in each region and summarize the characteristics of early bronze mirrors in each region.Through integrating,this paper gives a preliminary review the discovery and evolution of early bronze mirrors in China.Finally,this article discusses the origin,dissemination,communication and influence of early bronze mirrors in China.Based on difference of archaeological culture,this article divides the early bronze mirrors in China into six regions——Gan-Qing area,Central plain and the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River,Liao River and Liaodong area,the middle area along the Great Wall,Xinjiang area,the southwest area.This article classifies and stages the early bronze mirrors in each region and summarizes the characteristics of the early bronze mirrors in each region.Gan-Qing area is is the earliest area of bronze mirror in China.From the late spring and autumn period to the early warring states period,Central plain and the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River developed the style of Central plain bronze mirrors.Liao River and Liaodong area made a feature of more button mirror.Though having mirror with knob,but the middle area along the Great Wall made features of the bronze mirror with knob and zoomorphic handles.The southwest area made a feature of handle mirrors with mirror handle clip mirror.Xinjiang area alternately popularize knob mirrors and handle mirrors.This article combs the development and evolution of early bronze mirrors in China by integrating the early bronze mirrors of each regions.According to times,this article review development and evolution of bronze mirror shape and casting technology in early China.Finally,this article discuss the decline of the early bronze mirrors in China.And on that basis,this article discusses the origin,dissemination,communication and influence of early bronze mirrors in China.In terms of the origin of early bronze mirrorsin China,The origin of bronze mirrors with knob is Gan-Qing area.The origin of the handle mirror may be traced back to the Eurasian steppe.On the issue of the dissemination of early bronze mirrors in China,this chapter first discusses the dissemination of the most important types of the knotted mirrors and the handle mirrors,and on this basis,combined with previous studies,discusses the dissemination route of early bronze mirrors in China.The transmission route with button mirror is the center of Ganqing area,divided into three transmission routes to the west,east and south.The transmission route with the handle mirror is mainly from the outside into China,in China’s half-moon belt spread.Finally,the exchange and influence of early bronze mirrors in China are discussed.This is based on the development of characteristic bronze mirrors in the early bronze mirrors in most areas,which is divided into the exchange and influence between the early bronze mirrors in China and the exchange and influence between the central plains bronze mirrors and the early bronze mirrors.It is concluded that the communication and influence among early bronze mirrors are weak,while the influence of Chinese bronze mirrors on early bronze mirrors is great.
