| The paper starts from researching the cultural meaning and emotional commonality of plants in contemporary art as an artistic language. Then analyzes the connotation of common feeling and symbiosis with human beings in "plant language".Plants, live in harmony with humans and animals, are sometimes presented as incarnations of God,or sometimes even neglected by us.How is such a great and ordinary cultural spiritual temperament formed? What is the relationship between plants and people? What role does it play in art? How can the artist use the plant as an artistic language to arouse the viewer’s resonance with one’s works? Hopefully, through,I can comb through and summarize some answers to these questions. The first chapter cuts from the perspective of social life. From plants that close to human life, such as tea in China, and the global popular drink, coffee, which is made of coffee beans. How does plants and our living habits closely linked? Then, extending to the cultural connotation, the plant in religion and myth, traces its religious origins and summarizes the image it represents in literary works or popular impressions. These plants affect us in every ways. They also provide a strong power for the artists who work with them.In contemporary art works that take "plants" as an artistic language, the presentation of plants can be divided into three categories: living plants, plant specimens and plant images.Through analyzing the works of several artists,it is found that the "empathy" between people and plants is the core conveyed in these works, and this "empathy" includes religious legends, national localization, philosophical thoughts that all things are of the same origin and other factors. In the third chapter, the article makes a detailed analysis and elaboration on the concept of "empathy".From the specific human senses--hearing,pain,to emotional expression--language,to the deepest level of the concept of--"symbiosis".From the subtle audio-visual sensory experience to the macro focus and restoration of the ecological environment, artists who make use of plants, use the power of empathy to the extreme,so that their works show unique vitality and sustainability. |
