A Study On Water Techniques In Chinese Contemporary Imagery Landscape Oil Painting

Rather than a specific genre or doctrine,“Image”,in a short word,is a method reflecting our consciousness and emotions.“Image” is a unique Chinese aesthetic appreciation,according with the unique Chinese culture.It is something all human beings share,but also personal.The expressions of image in imagery landscape oil painting come from Chinese traditional artistic conception.The elements that can reflect artistic conception most in traditional Chinese painting are cloud,water and fog,which are different forms of water.It is also reflects the characteristics of water’s changeability and integration.Water is visible and indispensable in our daily life,it exists in various forms and nourishes everything.Water is colorless,tasteless and invisible,which seems no sense of existence.However it has been given a lot of good characters since ancient times.Water is unknown but moisten things silently.Image painting highlights personal expression and subjective understanding,and its works often embody the author’s views of the world and life,with a strong sense of self.In my opinion,such a creative language combines abstraction and expression,which is the outstanding feature of image oil painting different from realistic oil painting.The techniques of concrete-abstract realistic oil painting are more about natural depiction of light and shadow,and making three-dimensional sense in two-dimensional plane production to achieve visual illusion effect.While image oil painting is more about the subjective feeling rather than the shape and the realistic light and shadow.Instead,it techniques maily oriented emotional expression based on the artistic conception of the picture and combined relatively rational composition analysis.Through the creation of "water charm" series of works,I have experienced the characteristics of water in different regions and deeply felt the vast territory of the motherland and gorgeous scenery.Many scenery we have not found are waiting for us.While studying western oil painting,we should not forget our original intention to carry forward our country’s traditional culture and integrate Chinese traditional aesthetics and painting ideas into the contemporary environment,so as to enrich the contemporary image oil painting.In this study of water,I found the unique charm of water.It can be expressed in various forms.In the past,my painting method was still too conservative.During this study,I learned to open my perspective and paint with my true inner feelings,which added vitality and creativity into my works.
