It can be said that the current world and China are both in the special period of being the great development and great change.English learning will become more and more important.At the national level,more people are needed who can express and write in English.And in the new "General High School English Curriculum Standards" issued by the Ministry of Education,proposed the cultivation of students’ English core literacy,the basis of which is language ability.Writing is generally considered to be the most difficult skill to acquire,and as one of the most important skills in English learning,writing can best reflect the learners’ ability to use the language comprehensively.According to the distribution of the English papers in each province,we can see that writing plays a very important role in senior high school English teaching.However,the situation of senior high school students’ English writing is not optimistic.And by consulting relevant literature,it is found that the main reason for the low level of senior high school students’ writing is lexical errors.And the mastery of vocabulary is very important for learning English because words are the basic organizational unit of language.Based on the error analysis theory,this paper makes a study of senior high school students’ English compositions in the Xianyang Normal University affiliated Middle School.Learning from the classification of errors made by foreign scholars and Chinese scholars,the types of errors are classified into lexical errors,semantic errors and other errors,according to the specific circumstances,lexical errors are classified into spelling error,coinage errors and form errors.Semantic errors include part of speech errors,collocation errors and semantic ambiguity and other errors include repeated errors and incorrect use of words.And each type of error have a more detailed division.In addition,SPSS21.0 tool was used to analyze the data.It was found that there was a significant difference between high-score and low-score groupsin terms of lexical errors and other error.There was no significant difference in semantic errors between the two groups.In order to better analyze the causes of senior high school students’ errors,I distributed a student questionnaire to the subjects,based on the analysis of students’ compositions and questionnaires,it is found that intralingual and interlingual transfer are the main causes of senior high school students’ lexical error in English writing.Interlingual transfer mainly refers to the negative transfer of the mother language,which occurs frequently in writing,and intralingual transfer is more diverse,mainly in the form of rule generalization and rule simplification.Through the analysis of the causes of lexical errors,the relevant teaching inspiration is obtained to help teachers improve the correct rate of English writing vocabulary in a reasonable and effective ways,so as to help students improve their English writing level.
