This report reviews a Chinese-to-English consecutive interpretation mission.The source of interpretation is the visit to Guangxi Innovation-driven Development Exhibition.This report analyzes different factors the author encountered in this interpretation mission.Based on the situations the author met as an interpreter,the author divides this report into four parts: mission introduction,pre-interpretation preparation,case study and conclusion.In the mission introduction,the author introduces the background of this mission and the requirement towards the interpreter.In the pre-interpretation preparation,the author describes and analyzes how he prepared for this mission.In the case study,the author uses the schema theory of social psychology to analyze his interpreting performance from four aspects,namely language schema,topic schema,text schema and strategy schema.In the conclusion,the author summarizes his gain from this mission and the analysis from the perspective of four schemata mentioned above.Through holistic review and case study of this interpretation mission,the author hopes to be inspired with lessons for improvement and to provide valuable suggestions for student interpreters who would interpret in exhibitions. |
