In recent years,education has been a hot topic in various countries.China’s education development is also very rapid,and China’s demand for educational models is becoming increasingly diverse.The 2022 board meeting of the Santa Barbara school of University of California held by the directors of charter schools in the United States has attracted the attention of domestic educators.This paper is the report on the mock consecutive interpreting practice using this board meeting as the practice material.Under the guidance of schema theory,this paper analyzes and studies the problems that the interpreter encountered in the mock practice,and tries to find effective solutions.With the explanation of three types of schema---language schema,content schema,and formal schema,and by analyzing specific examples in the interpreting practice,the paper explores the positive role of schema theory in the application of interpretation practice.The paper finds that adequate pre-interpretation preparation can help interpreters build a more complete schema.If an interpreter can use the established schema properly in the interpreting practice,it can help him to build up confidence,and improve the speed and quality of the interpretation.In addition,the paper summarizes and reflects on the problems in the interpreting practice,and proposes corresponding solutions.
