The source text of this translation report is extracted from the book Teacher Learning and Leadership.This book introduces Teacher Learning and Leadership Program(TLLP)in the educational reform in Canada and makes an in-depth case analysis.The source text introduces the foundation,development and other basic information about TLLP,which has referential value for the educational reform in China.The source text is an educational academic text characterized by a high number of long and complex sentences.Those long and complex sentences are the important and difficult points of this translation project.The translator,guided by Skopos Theory of German Functional Translation School,explores the translation methods of long and complex sentences.The translation of long and complex sentences involves two steps.The first step is to translate each part of the sentence corresponding to the original sentence to get the first version of translation.The second step is to adjust the first version of translation according to language features of Chinese.The translator adopts the methods of corresponding,reversing,restructuring and synthesizing so as to make the translation activities more efficient and the translation more reader-friendly while being as faithful as possible to the original content.The translator hopes that this report can provide some references for the understanding and translation of long and complex sentences in similar texts.
