In recent years,artificial intelligence has brought huge changes to people’s life.An increasing number of people from all walks of life tend to use artificial intelligence to improve work efficiency and voice-to-text software is such a technology.In interpretation,voice-to-text software can help interpreters transform the voice into text and record the information that is to be interpreted.If the software can record the information that is to be interpreted effectively and accurately,it will undoubtedly provide great convenience for interpreters,reduce the pressure on interpreters and improve the efficiency and accuracy of interpretation compared with traditional note-taking.In addition,since medical interpreting is difficult and highly specialized with abundant medical terms,medical interpreters will face great challenges in medical interpreting tasks.Therefore,the experiment attempts to test the reliability and accuracy of voice-to-text software and explore whether it is qualified to serve as an assistant for interpreters in medical interpreting.In this experiment,the author takes Iflytek Input as an example,then combines it with professional and complex medicine to test its accuracy and applicability.The whole experiment consists of two parts.In the first part of the experiment,Iflytek Input is used and medical materials with different characteristics are used to test the accuracy in speech recognition of Iflytek Input.In the second part of the experiment,students who major in English interpreting are also invited to simulate a controlled experiment to test the applicability of Iflytek Input in medical interpreting.After the controlled experiment,their performances will be rated and an interview for them will be conducted.After analyzing the experiment data of the two experiments,the author draws a conclusion.The experiment shows that Iflytek Input gives some help to interpreters in some way,but it still needs to be improved for complex interpreting in real scenario.
