| Under the background of the new curriculum reform,the core quality of English subject requires the cultivation of students’ reading thinking,logical thinking and the improvement of students’ reading strategies.But because of the difficulty of reading itself and the large number of words,it is difficult to arouse students’ interest As a result,many students are faced with reading difficulties and can not actively participate in the class.Class participation is an important indicator to measure the teaching effect of a class.The level of student participation can affect the efficiency of the class and determine the quality of the class.After the implementation of curriculum reform,it is required that the classroom should be student-centered,and the participation degree also reflects the concept of student-centered from the side.With the development of educational informationization,many new teaching tools emerge at home and abroad,which provide new possibilities for improving the teaching quality of teachers and the learning efficiency of students.Kahoot is an interactive platform based on games,which supports students to answer questions and give personalized feedback in kahoot.Its unique point ranking mechanism turns the classroom into a paradise for students to learn.In this study,kahoot platform is applied to junior high school English reading class to create a gaming and competitive environment,and to investigate the impact of the platform on teachers,students and classroom efficiency.Firstly,this study uses the literature analysis method to sort out the previous research on the kahoot platform,and then puts forward the significance of the research.Secondly,we use observation and interview methods to find out the real problems in junior middle school English reading class,such as low participation,lack of formative assessment and so on,which provide the factual basis for the research.Then it introduces the main functions of the kahoot platform,and analyzes the advantages and feasibility of applying the kahoot platform to classroom teaching.Then through the experimental control method to compare the classroom effect after using the kahoot platform.Through data analysis,it is concluded that the kahoot platform promotes the enthusiasm of students’ participation in the classroom to a certain extent,and the powerful data reporting function also provides the basis for the formative evaluation of students,and provides help for teachers to improve the design of teaching activities in time.After two times of teaching practice,the paper puts forward the teaching strategy of using kahoot platform,including teaching task design strategy,teaching organization design strategy,teaching evaluation design strategy.Finally,we use the questionnnaire to investigate the students’ feelings after using the kahoot platform,and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the kahoot platform through the analysis of the questionnaire.The purpose of this study is to bring a new possibility for English reading class through the use of kahoot platform,and to provide reference for future research and teachers’ use of kahoot platform. |
