Good students’ participation can reflect students’ interest in the subject,and can also convey whether the design of classroom teaching content is reasonable.Teachers can see whether the teaching effect is ideal from the participation degree of students.Therefore,teachers should pay attention to students’ participation in class.In recent years,the focus of teachers in the classroom should be adjusted,teachers will present part of the content in the classroom,in order to consolidate the foundation of students,teachers in the classroom for interaction time reduced,indirectly affecting the students’ participation in the classroom.Students’ participation in English class is very important for students.It not only reflects the main position of students in teaching,but also promotes students’ English learning.How to improve students’ participation in class is a problem that teachers have been thinking about.Based on humanism and participatory learning theory,this paper studies the students’ participation in class.First of all,the related theories and research situation of students’ participation are summarized.This study uses questionnaires,interviews,classroom observation and other methods to test the students’ participation in Mianyang XX school,analyzes the current situation of high school students’ participation in English class,and understands the factors that may affect students’ classroom participation.The main problems to be solved are:1.How about students’ participation in senior high school English classroom teaching?2.What are the factors that affect students’ participation in senior high school English class?3.How to improve students’ participation in high school English class?The results show that the factors that affect students’ participation in senior high school English class include students’ English foundation,teachers’ questioning strategies and students’ emotional factors.The strategies to improve the participation of senior high school English students are as follows: teachers should teach students according to their aptitude,pay attention to classroom introduction,and optimize classroom questioning strategies;Students should actively speak,stimulate self-efficacy,give full play to their subjective initiative,and choose suitable learning methods.
