| As a representative literature in the study of modern Korean language, the term of《Yeok Eo Ryu Hae》was named because it categorized Chinese vocabulary and interpreted them in Korean.《Yeok Eo Ryu Hae》is a vocabulary book for Chinese study reference published in 1690(sukjong 16)by the interpreters of translation institute and is divided into PartIand PartII.More than 80 years later the sequel《Yeok Eo Ryu Hae Bo》was compiled by Kim Hong-chul,the grandson of Kim Ji-nam,and other interpreters from translation institute in 1775.The version of photoprint handed down in many ways. There are 13 versions of photoprint in many countries, including Korea,Japan, and France, but some of them are loose and some of them are mixed together. This thesis will compare two editions. One is wood carving edition which is kept in Seoul National University’s Gyujanggak Library and the other is manuscript which is not known to the issuing entity. The manuscript has the advantage of being able to faithfully represent the language changes as the times change because it is not a printed book but a handwritten one, however the study of《Yeok Eo Ryu Hae》has always been limited to wood carving edition.Considering the fact that the year of publication of the manuscript is not revealed, this thesis will clarify the connection between two editions and then will compare them. Before the comparison is made, this thesis will first have brief description of the edition and then will examine notation, phonetic change, etc.from a linguistic perspective. The purpose of this research is to closely explain the language change of the modern Korean language through comparison with the manuscripts that have always been excluded from the research list and making small contribution to the study of modern Korean can be the research significance of this research. |
