The rural primary school English curriculum is an important measure for curriculum reform since 2001.The rural primary school English curriculum has been implemented for more than ten years.Due to economic conditions and environmental problems,the gap between urban and rural areas is large.Although the current status of rural primary school English teaching is gradually improving,teachers Relative shortages and the comprehensive quality of teachers need to be improved,the curriculum is irrational,the teaching resources are relatively lacking,and parents do not pay enough attention to many factors that affect and restrict the improvement of rural primary school English teaching quality.Strengthening the English teaching of senior grades in rural elementary schools can increase the interest of rural elementary students in learning English,lay a good foundation for the English learning of rural elementary school students entering higher grade schools,and improve the quality of English teaching in rural elementary grades.This research mainly uses literature method,observation method and investigation method.Firstly,it sorts out the relevant literatures about English teaching in rural primary schools,grasps the research dynamics of relevant research,and lays a certain theoretical foundation for this research.Secondly,questionnaires were distributed to senior students in three rural primary schools in Taizhou City,Jiangsu Province,and interviews were conducted with senior English teachers,focusing on the basic situation of primary school English teachers,the development of primary school English curriculum resources,the design of primary school English classroom teaching goals,classrooms The main methods and forms of teaching,primary school English homework design and layout,primary school English teaching effect evaluation and other aspects were investigated,and it was found that the problems in the English teaching of senior grades in rural primary schools are mainly:uneven professional quality of English teachers and neglect of teaching goal design Emotional goals,inadequate application and development of information-based curriculum resources,teaching methods that focus on "teaching",homework assignments are limited to writing,and there is a lack of personalized evaluation methods for rural pupils’English learning effect evaluation.The main reasons for the problems in the English teaching of senior grades in rural elementary schools are:the incomplete training system for English teachers in rural elementary schools,the lack of awareness of professional development responsibility among English teachers in rural elementary schools,and the lagging development of the overall education and culture in rural areas.In view of the problems existing in the English teaching of senior grades in rural primary schools,the main improved teaching strategies include the following aspects:improving the overall quality of primary school English teachers in rural areas,stimulating internal learning motivation,emphasizing emotional goals,enriching and effectively using a variety of curriculum resources,Various methods are used to enhance the sense of happiness and accomplishment of rural primary school senior students,enrich the content and types of homework in rural primary school senior English,and teaching evaluation focuses on the unity of comprehensive evaluation and personality evaluation of students.
