The research of Chinese separable words has always been a difficult point for foreign students.In the past,most research method was the following three steps:error classification----reason analysis----teaching suggestions.Previous researches did obtain lots of positive results.However,the pain point of separable words was still not well solved.Therefore,this paper started from a new perspective.The author analyzed and compared the separable words in"Boya Chinese" and"New Practical Chinese Reader",which are two classic Chinese language textbooks for oversea learners.And we attempted to propose some new practical suggestions for the study of separable words from the perspective of teaching materials.In the analysis of teaching materials,the author started from the perspectives of the number,part-of-speech tagging,phonetic notation,paraphrase,distribution rules,recurrence rate,grammar explanation,practice,etc.Through the analysis,we found that these two sets of textbooks have some common shortcomings such as excessive proportion of superclass words,uneven distribution of vocabulary grades and low recurrence rate of separable words.The textbooks are not uniform in the part-of-speech tagging and pinyin tagging.There is also no special mark on the part-of-speech of the separable words.The paraphrase is mostly a simple English word.In the grammar,these two textbooks both explain the separable words in the first lesson of Intermediate 1,but the explanation is simple and not systematic.After comparing the contents of these two sets of textbooks,this paper compared the matching degree between the collected separable words in textbooks and the actual corpus of the native speakers on the basis of corpus data of Peking University.And then based on the High-Frequency Separable Words Vocabulary of Wang Haifeng(2008),the author selected eight words and searched them in the corpus of Peking University and the corpus of foreign students of Jinan University to analyze the differences in separated forms and separated frequency between native speakers and foreign students.This paper also discussed the major errors of separable words in the corpus of foreign students of Jinan University and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of textbooks from the perspective of corpus.On the basis of the above discussion,the author finally put forward some suggestions for the preparation of the separable words in the textbook:(1)setting the number,grade and recurrence rate of the separable words reasonably(2)unifying partof-speech,labeling and interpretation(3)refining the grammatical points of the separated words(4)enriching the form and difficulty of the practice(5)using the corpus to locate the difficulty of teaching materials. |
