| As the international exchanges become more frequent,the demand for qualified interpreters are gradually expanding,our country are now paying much more attention to the research and practice of interpreting teaching and learning.However,according to the previous research outcomes and the writer’s field practice on this topic,it is found that:First,many people misunderstand the word "sight interpreting",actually,it includes two parts:"sight interpreting" and "sight translation";Second,people believe that interpreters will find sight interpreting to be much easier with text at hand,actually,such kind of understanding is quite partial,due to the language feature of written text,the speaker’s way of speech delivery and the interpreter’s own effort mode,problems like redundancy and wrong anticipation will pop up;Third,some people even hold the opinion that sight interpreting is the same with simultaneous interpreting with text,therefore,they undervalue "sight interpreting" and make it a stepping-stone to simultaneous interpretation;Fourth,less scholars set an eye in the field of strategies for sight interpreting,and for those who study the strategies of sight interpreting,give an overall discussion of several commonly used strategies for sight interpreting,let alone exclusive studies concentrated on a particular strategy of its application in sight interpreting.By making literature review and case analyses,this paper aims to clarify the concept of sight interpreting and its features,study its difficulties of sight interpreting,and then put forward six strategies of Principle of Economy to sight interpreting,including using pronouns,reducing English connectives,reducing unnecessary words,reducing redundancy,making quick response to cultural hesitation and giving reasonable simplification.The significance of this paper is to point out directions for the writer’s future study on sight interpreting,and also,to put forward some practical suggestions for other peer students,and as well,to contribute the writer’s bite of effort to the research of sight interpreting. |
