Since the reform and opening up,contact and exchanges between China and the rest of the world have become ever closer and more frequent.With the rising international status and the growing international influence,China has played an increasingly important role in the international community.As a political,economic and cultural power,China is supposed to have a clear understanding of how the international community and foreign medias see herself.Therefore the study of E-C translation of news is particularly important.The source texts of this translation project report are 8 selected China-related articles from published in 2014,covering a wide range of issues including Chinese consumers,online firms,corporate debt,service industry,official figures and economic plan,indicators,and rebalancing.This report is composed of four parts.The first part is a brief introduction of the background and objectives of the report.The second part is a summary about the study of E-C translation of news.In the third part,the author analyzes the difficulties encountered during the process of translation at the level of words,phrases,sentences and ideology and offers corresponding solutions by quoting relevant examples.In the last part,the author makes a conclusion of the lessons acquired during the translation practice and poses some problems that remain to be solved.The author hopes to present this thesis to provide some references for E-C translation of news.
