BackgroundUnder the background of implementing the "comprehensive two-child policy",the number of "two-child" families is increasing day by day,and the sibling acceptance of the second child by the first-born children affects the stability of the family structure and the mental and behavioral health of the first-born children. At present, there are differences in domestic studies on the sibling acceptance degree of the first-born children aged 7 to 12,which is affected by the interaction between individual and family factors, security is one of the cognitive factors affecting individual acceptance, family intimacy is one of the environmental factors affecting individual acceptance, and the reduction of family intimacy forms threatening stress, which affects individual security. The impact of security and family intimacy on sibling acceptance needs to be explored.ObjectivesTo investigate the current situation of sibling acceptance of the first-born children aged 7 to 12 in "two-child" families, and to explore the relationship between family intimacy and sense of security,as well as its influence on sibling acceptance of the first-born children,so as to explore new ways for healthy psychological and behavioral development of children.MethodsStratified cluster sampling method was used to select 584 first-born children aged7~12 from primary schools in 9 administrative areas of Anyang City.General questionnaire,Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale,Second Edition,Chinese Version(FACESII-CV),Security Questionnaire(SQ)and sibling acceptance attitude questionnaire were used to conduct a cross-sectional study on the first-born children aged 7 to 12 in "two-child" families.Epidata 3.1 software was used to input data, and SPSS 24.0 and process3.3 were used to analyze the data. The constituent ratio is used for counting data, and the mean ±standard deviation is used for measurement data.U-test was used to compare the demographic factors of sibling acceptance of the first-born children.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between sibling acceptance of the first-born children and family intimacy, sense of security.Multivariate linear regression was used to analyze the relationship among family intimacy, sense of security and sibling acceptance.Process3.3was used to analyze the intermediary and regulatory role of family intimacy between sense of security and sibling acceptance.Results1.600 questionnaires were sent out and 584 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective rate of 97.33%.Among the first-born children aged 7 to 12 of "two-child" families,27 people were fully accepted, accounting for 4.62%,and the rest were partially accepted. The total score of sibling acceptance(44.50±8.99)was lower than the standard average score of the questionnaire(66.00±0.00).The scores of cognitive dimension, emotion dimension and behavior dimension of sibling acceptance(16.05±4.33),emotion dimension(14.09±3.59)and behavior dimension(14.36±2.79)were all lower than those of the three dimensions(22.00±0.00).2.The results of u-test showed that there were statistically significant differences in sibling acceptance scores of the first-born children in gender, gender combination, parental relationship(children’s perspective)and family type(u=-5.137,-3.175,-3.098,-4.205;P<0.05).3.Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between the score of sibling acceptance and the score of sense of security(r=-0.371,P<0.01),and a positive correlation between the score of sense of security and the score of family intimacy(r=0.427,P<0.01).4.Multivariate linear regression analysis and moderating effect analysis showed that the score of sense of security had negative predictive effect on sibling acceptance score of the first-born children[standard regression coefficient(β)=-0.315,P< 0.05],and the score of family intimacy had negative predictive effect on sibling acceptance score of the first-born children[standard regression coefficient(β)=-0.716,P<0.05],the score of security * family closeness had a negative predictive effect on sibling acceptance score of the first-born children[standard regression coefficient(β)=-0.285,P<0.05].Conclusion1.The sibling acceptance of the first-born children aged 7 to 12 in the "two-child" family is above the middle level.2.Gender,gender combination, relationship between parents(children’s perspective)and family type influence the sibling acceptance level of the first-born children.3.The sense of security positively predicts the sibling acceptance of the first-born children aged 7 to 12,and family intimacy positively moderates the impact of the sense of security on sibling acceptance of the first-born children. The sibling acceptance level can be improved by increasing sense of security and family intimacy of the first-born children.
