| Objective To understand the basic status of professional identity,turnover intention and emotional regulation self-efficacy of nurses in private hospitals,and analyze the relevant influencing factors;To explore the correlation between nurses’ professional identity and turnover intention,and introduce emotional regulation selfefficacy as a mediator to test the mediating effect.This paper analyzes the influence of nurses’ professional identity on their turnover intention,in order to find an effective way to improve nurses’ professional identity,improve nurses’ emotional regulation selfefficacy,reduce nurses’ turnover intention,and then stabilize the nursing staff in hospital.Methods Nurses in 15 private hospitals in Lanzhou were selected by random sampling to conduct a questionnaire survey,and a total of 650 questionnaires were distributed.SPSS 26.0 were used for statistical analysis.Descriptive analysis of the general demographic characteristics of the respondents;Independent sample T test or one-way anova were used to compare the differences of demographic characteristics scores of nurses’ professional identity,turnover intention and emotional regulation selfefficacy.Pearson correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediation effect analysis were used to explore the correlation between professional identity and turnover intention of nurses in private hospitals,as well as the mediating effect of emotional regulation self-efficacy.Result(1)A total of 583 nurses in private hospitals were investigated in this paper,and women accounted for 98.46% of the total number of nurses;Nurses under 31 years old accounted for 67.58%;67.41% of those with less than 10 years of working experience;The proportion of unmarried nurses was 50.26%;College education accounted for 62.95%;Surgery,obstetrics and gynecology nurses,accounting for35.85%;Primary nurses accounted for 85.42%;80.96% of nurses were employed by signing contracts;Nurses with less than 4000 yuan accounted for 80.79%;Only 8.75 percent of nurses took exercise regularly.(2)The average total score of nurses’ professional identity was 112.48±18.15,cognitive evaluation was 3.61±0.73,social skills were 3.84±0.60,social support was3.65±0.65,frustration coping was 3.92±0.63,and self-reflection was 3.86±0.70;Educational background,monthly income,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise were statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)The total score of nurses’ turnover intention was 2.04±0.75,the average score of nurses’ turnover intention Ⅰ was 2.09±0.78,the average score of nurses’ turnover intention Ⅱ was 2.08±0.77,and the average score of nurses’ turnover intention Ⅲ was1.96±0.76.Age,marriage,educational background,professional title,monthly income,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise were statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The average score of emotion regulation self-efficacy was 45.20±6.92,the average score of expressing positive emotion self-efficacy dimension was 4.05±0.61,the average score of depression/pain self-efficacy dimension was 3.66±0.66,and the average score of anger self-efficacy dimension was 3.59±0.75;Department,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise were statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)There was a negative correlation between nurses’ professional identity(X)and turnover intention(Y)of nurses in private hospitals(P<0.01),and the correlation coefficient was-0.613.The regression prediction equation between nurses’ professional identity(X)and turnover intention(Y)was Y=-0.745 X +4.803.(6)There was a negative correlation between emotional regulation self-efficacy and turnover intention of nurses in private hospitals(P<0.01),and the correlation coefficient was-0.503.The regression prediction equation between emotional regulation self-efficacy(X)and turnover intention(Y)was Y=-0.619 X +4.388.(7)The total predictive effect of nurses’ professional identity on turnover intention was-0.766,in which the indirect and direct effects of self-efficacy mediated by emotion regulation were-0.126 and-0.640 respectively.Conclusions(1)The majority of nurses in Lanzhou private hospitals are female,and the trend is getting younger.More than half of nurses have less than 10 years of work experience,and their education level is mainly junior college.There are few nurses with senior professional titles.(2)The level of professional identity of nurses in private hospitals is at the medium level,in which the highest score is professional frustration coping,and the lowest score is professional cognitive evaluation;Education background,monthly income,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise are the important factors influencing the difference of professional identity scores of nurses.(3)Nurses in private hospitals have a higher turnover intention,among which the possibility of quitting their current jobs is the highest score,and the possibility of obtaining external jobs is the lowest;There were statistically significant differences in nurses’ turnover intention in age,marriage,education background,professional title,monthly income,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise.(4)The scores of emotional regulation self-efficacy of nurses in private hospitals were above middle level,the highest score was the self-efficacy of expressing positive emotions,while the lowest score was the self-efficacy of regulating anger.Nurses have significant differences in emotional regulation self-efficacy in department,working years,weekly working hours and physical exercise.(5)There was a significant negative correlation between professional identity and turnover intention of nurses in private hospitals;There was a significant negative correlation between emotion regulation self-efficacy and turnover intention.There was significant positive correlation between nurses’ professional identity and emotional regulation self-efficacy.(6)Emotional regulation self-efficacy plays a partially mediating role in the influence of nurses’ professional identity on turnover intention. |
