Analysis Of Medication Regularity Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription For Gastric Cancer In Guangzhou And Hong Kong Based On Data Mining

ObjectiveThe objective is to discover and analyze the prescription for gastric cancer at different stages with different metastases sites and symptoms in in Guangzhou and Hong Kong in order to provide the rule of herbal medication and formulae.Methods1868 formuale of medical cases of gastric cancer patients in both the Oncology Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and the Oncology Specialty Outpatient Clinic of the Hong Kong Tung Wah Group of Hospitals were classified,analyzed and summarized.The Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5)following functions were used to analyze and summarize the medication rules of gastric cancer:entropy clustering,mutual information method and unsupervised entropy hierarchical clustering of complex systems.Results1)The statistical results of of Traditional Chinese Medicine of gastric cancer are as follows:For four qi frequencies:warm>neutral>cold.For the five flavors of herbs:Sweet>bitter>spicy.The top 10 most frequently used herbs:Licorice>White Atractylodes Rhizome>Poria Cocos>Tangerine Peel>Ternate Pinellia>Galli Gigiri Endothelium Corneum>Paeoniae Radix Alba>Curcumae Rhizoma>Hedyotis Herba>Dangshen.2)The analytical results of the rules of medication according to syndrome differentiation for gastric cancer symptoms are as follows:For spleen and stomach qi deficiency supplemented with dampness syndrome,replenishing the stomach,qi and blood,harmonizing stomach and expelling dampness are adopted by the use of Six-Gentlemen Formula,Ginseng,Poria and Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder or Qi Wei Bai Zhu San.For stomach yin deficiency syndrome and qi and yin deficiency,replenishing stomach yin and replenishing qi and yin are adopted by the use of Decoction of Glehnia and Ophiopogon and Pulse-Engendering Powder respectively.For phlegm retention and adverse qi rising of stomach qi syndrome of vomit,lowering the adverse stomach qi and eliminating the phlegm are adopted rules by the use of Pinellia Decoction Combinations+Sarcandrae Herba and Torreyae Semen,Warm the Gallbladder Formula or Inula and Hematite Decoction.For syndrome of stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency,soothing liver and stagnated heat and harmonizing spleen qi are adopted rules by the use of Frigid Extremities Powder.For food stagnation syndrome,promoting digestion to eliminate stagnation is adopted by the use of Harmony-Preserving Pill.For weak syndrome of spleen deficiency and strong syndrome of intermingled heat and cold with swelling and qi stagnation,improving appetite and eliminating qi stagnation and swelling are adopted rules by the use of Immature Bitter Orange and GlomusDispersing Pill.3)The main syndrome differentiation and the rule of medication and prescription of the symptoms including nausea,vomiting,and dysphagia are as follows:Resolving food and qi stagnation,lowering adverse qi are the common rules of medication.Ephedra Decoction used to eliminate phlegm fluid retention in lung.Drastic Water-expelling is adopted as rule by Semen Pharbitdis Powder or Lepidium and Jujube Lung-Draining Decoction and food and heat stagnation in gastrointestinal tract subgroup syndrome for phlegm fluid retention.Replenishing stomach yin and spleen qi,eliminating blood stasis and stopping the bleeding are the common rules of medications of the bloody stools and vomiting with blood subgroups.The new medication of vomiting with blood subgroup is Inulae Flos Haematitum Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus with three Carbonisatus Formula.Warming the middle burner,invigorating the spleen and stopping the bleeding,nourishing the kidneys and essence as well as suppressing bleeding by administration of astringents,and smoothing and descending qi to stop the bleeding.The basic components of Decoction of baked yellow earth+charcoal drugs are used to treat bloody stool characterized by spleen yang deficiency.Cooling blood to stop bleeding by Erzhi pill for syndrome of yin deficiency and blood heat.The rules of new medications of the jaundice subgroup are clearing heat,removing dampness,soothing the liver,normalizing the gallbladder to cure jaundice,invigorating spleen to eliminate dampness,resolving food stagnation,and replenishing blood and qi.Artemisiae Scopariae Herba Ficus hirta Astragali Radix Four Gentlemen Decoction and Stomach-Calming Powder for syndrome of spleen deficiency and phlegm and blood stasis.4)The herbs invigorating the spleen and replenishing qi and blood are more frequently used in total gastrectomy,while the herbs eliminating pathogenic factors and soothing the liver are more frequently used in partial gastrectomy.5)The rules of medication analysis of lymph metastasis,peri-chemotherapy,peritarget therapy and post-radiotherapy subgroups are as follows:The herbs warming the middle burner,descending turbid,eliminating phlegm,and warming and smoothing the meridians,and descending turbid and eliminating phlegm are used in lymph node metastases.The herbs improving appetite are used in chemotherapy in progress subgroup in Guangzhou.The aromatic herbs eliminating dampness,blood stasis and mass are used in Hong Kong.The herbs eliminating phlegm and softening mass are used in postchemotherapy subgroup in Guangzhou.The aromatic herbs and soothing liver qi herbs are used in Hong Kong.The herbs eliminating qi and blood stasis is adopted in Hong Kong.Animal drugs and lowering qi herbs are used in Guangzhou in chemotherapy stopped subgroup.The herbs replenishing blood and kidney are used in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.The herbs nourishing blood,expelling wind and removing blood stasis for removing obstruction in collaterals are a used in treating numbness.The herbs soothing and softening the liver,killing pain,and relieving itching are used in post radiotherapy.6)For liver metastases,the herbs nourishing the liver and blood,eliminating blood stasis,expelling wind to improve blood circulation are used.For peritoneal metastases,the herbs replenishing kidneys,eliminating qi and blood stasis to alleviate pain and diuretic herbs to eliminate dampness are used in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.The herbs nourishing the heart for mind tranquilization are used in Guangzhou.The diuretic herbs replenishing yang are used in Hong Kong.For abdominal wall metastasis,the herbs tonifiying the kidneys and waist and invigorating the spleen with aromatics are used in Guangzhou.Conclusion1)The medication rules of the gastric cancer reveal strengthening the spleen as the main rule,while the supplementary rules are as follows:Regulating qi-flowing and eliminating phlegm,resolving food stagnation,softening and resolving hard mass,harmonizing qi and resolving phlegm are informed in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.There is a change in the rules of medications in Guangzhou:In the early stage,the rule is to eliminate pathogens.In late stage,the rule is to strengthen vital qi.There is no obvious changes in Hong Kong.The rules of medication is replenishing and motivating the spleen and improving appetite.2)The rules of replenishing spleen,qi and blood are more frequently adopted in total gastrectomy,while eliminating pathogenic factors are more frequently adopted in partial gastrectomy.Replenishing blood and kidneys are adopted in chemotherapy suspended.3)The conclusion of the rules of medication analysis of lymph,liver,abdominal and peritoneal metastases are as follows:For warming the middle burner,warming and smoothing the meridians,and descending turbid and eliminating phlegm are adopted.For liver metastases,clearing and nourishing the liver and blood,eliminating blood stasis,expelling wind to improve blood circulation are adopted.For peritoneal metastases,nourishing the heart for tranquilization,replenishing kidneys,eliminating qi and blood stasis to alleviate pain and promoting urination to eliminate dampness are adopted.For abdominal wall metastasis,nourishing the kidneys and supporting the waist and knees,and invigorating the spleen with aromatics are adopted.
