Objective: To study the characteristics of serum uric acid level in children aged 0-18 years and explore its characteristics in different genders and ages, and to analyze its correlation with body mass index, fasting blood glucose and blood lipids and establish a normal reference range of serum uric acid for young children. Methods: 228 children who underwent physical examination in the growth and development clinic of our hospital from March 15 to March 18,2019 were included in the study.Correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum uric acid and age, sex, body mass index, blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein. The subjects were divided into normal weight group, overweight group and obesity group, and the differences of serum uric acid levels among the three groups were compared. The age is divided into five groups according to the order from small to big,and the difference of serum uric acid between different age groups and different genders in each age group is analyzed;the reference range of serum uric acid in adolescents and children is established by calculating 95% confidence interval.Results:1.There was a positive correlation between serum uric acid and age, body mass index, blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride. There was no significant difference in serum uric acid between men and women(P >0.05).2.The level of serum uric acid in the obese group was significantly higher than that in the normal weight group(P <0.05)3.The level of serum uric acid in the age > = 13 years old group was significantly higher than that in the age 1-4 years old group.4.Reference range of serum uric acid for adolescents and children is145-361umol/L.Conclusions:1.There is a positive correlation between serum uric acid and age, body mass index, blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride, and the above indexes are important components of metabolic syndrome,so serum uric acid can be included in the diagnostic criteria of metabolic syndrome;after grouping age > = 13 years old,the level of serum uric acid is significantly higher than that of 1-4 years old group, which also shows that the level of serum uric acid increases with the increase of age.2.The level of serum uric acid in the obese group is significantly higher than that in the normal group, and reducing body weight is an important way to reduce serum uric acid.3.There is no significant difference in serum uric acid levels between men and women in general and among different age groups, but this is not consistent with the known results of adult studies. It may be due to the gradual increase of differences in life and eating habits between men and women with the increase of age,it is necessary to further study the time point and reason of the difference in serum uric acid levels between men and women, which has important clinical significance.4.The reference range established in this paper is different from the known hyperuricemia(> 416umol/L),indicating that young children need different reference standards from adults, and there are significant differences in serum uric acid levels among different age groups, indicating that different age stages have different serum uric acid levels,so different reference ranges need to be established, and unified diagnostic criteria can not be used to reduce the rate of clinical missed diagnosis. |
