Research On Zhang Zhongjing’s Thought Of Treating Five Visceral Diseases From Spleen And Stomach

Objective: Zhang Zhongjing’s Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases has far-reaching influence and has long guided the clinical practice of ancient and modern physicians.This paper studies the rules of Zhang Zhongjing’s treatment of five visceral diseases from the spleen and stomach,explore how Zhang Zhongjing chose prescriptions and medicines from the perspective of spleen and stomach to treated five visceral diseases based on syndrome differentiation in clinical practice.Methods: This paper using the method of literature research,synthesizes the 398 texts in Treatise on Febrile Diseases and the 398 texts in the first 22 chapters of Synopsis of the Golden Chamber by Zhang Zhongjing.Screen the original which prescription and medication are clear,and conform of treating five visceral diseases from the spleen and stomach,sorts out the original texts that accord with the screening conditions.Then summarized it according to five viscera diseases,combing and analyzing them one by one,to explore the connotation of Zhang Zhongjing’s thought of treating five visceral diseases from spleen and stomach.Results:46 texts in Treatise on Febrile Diseases and 73 texts in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber are sorted out.Zhang Zhongjing’s treatment of liver disease from the spleen and stomach is mainly based on the spleen and stomach pivot qi,transforming qi and blood,transporting water and dampness,supporting soil and restraining wood;Treatment of heart disease from the spleen and stomach is mainly based on the warm spleen yang,the vital qi of spleen and stomach,and the transportation of water and dampness;Treatment of spleen disease from spleen and stomach is mainly based on spleen and stomach transporting water and dampness,regulating qi,transforming qi and blood,warming spleen yang and controlling blood;Treatment of lung disease from the spleen and stomach is mainly based on the spleen and stomach transporting water and dampness,controlling blood,and spleen producing lung gold;Treatment of kidney disease from the spleen and stomach is mainly based on the spleen and stomach transporting water and dampness,transforming qi and blood,spleen governing ascending and clearing,spleen yang warm,spleen as the foundation of postnatal,cultivating soil to make water;Treatment of multiple visceral diseases from the spleen and stomach is mainly based on the transformation of spleen and stomach,the generation of qi and blood,and the warming of spleen yang.Conclusions:1.Zhang Zhongjing paid attention to syndrome differentiation and treatment of five visceral diseases from spleen and stomach.2.Zhang Zhongjing’s treatment of five visceral diseases from spleen and stomach is mainly based on function of spleen and stomach,the spleen being the foundation of acquired constitution and the relation of generation and restriction in five elements,etc.3.Zhang Zhongjing pays attention to protection of stomach qi,regulate the spleen and stomach through harmony in clinical when he uses bitter-cold medicines,vomit medicines,and toxic medicines.
