| Objective: The study investigated the smoking cessation status of 103 patients in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University after treatment in intensive care unit(ICU),and analyzed the influence of these patients’ intention to quit smoking and smoking cessation rate. Methods:The basic information, questionnaire survey and follow-up of 103 patients admitted to ICU of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from June 2019 to may 2020 were collected. The patients who completed the follow-up were divided into complete smoking cessation group and incomplete smoking cessation group, and then the incomplete smoking cessation group was subdivided into reduced smoking group and complete smoking cessation group. The intention to quit smoking and the factors influencing the smoking cessation rate of each group were compared, and then the results were analyzed by binary Logistic regression. Results:The 35-65 age group was more likely to quit smoking, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).> 3 days in ICU was a favorable factor for smoking cessation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Patients with fewer than 20 cigarettes per day were more likely to quit smoking, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Patients with respiratory diseases were more likely to quit smoking, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Patients were more likely to quit smoking when they perceived the ICU experience as facilitating smoking cessation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).When patients’ ladder score of smoking cessation intention was more than 5 points, the success rate of smoking cessation was higher, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that the number of cigarettes smoked per day,the ladder score of smoking cessation intention, the thought that ICU experience promoted smoking cessation and the ICU time had significant effects on smoking cessation(P<0.05).Conclusion: The ICU experience has a certain promotion effect on smoking cessation, which suggests that the significant experience of patients is an important factor for smoking cessation. The degree of psychotherapy can be one of the indicators to predict the success of smoking cessation, and seek a new direction for tobacco control. |
