objectiveThrough the investigation of the smoking behavior, the willingness to quit, and the status quo of smoking cessation among male residents aged 15 and over in the main urban area of Chongqing, this paper describes the sociological characteristics of the smog population, the characteristics of smoking behavior, the relevant situation of smoking cessation behavior, analyzes the related factors of smoking and smoking cessation, and discusses the targeted tobacco control. To explore the relevant countermeasures and suggestions for tobacco control and to provide reference basis for local government's tobacco control measures.Method1.Sampling method: cross-sectional multi-stage sampling method was used. The number of residents in 9 main urban areas in Chongqing was first determined, and two main urban areas were selected according to the Probability-to-Size Sampling method;Secondly, according to the PPS method,4 communities are drawn in each urban area,a total of 8communities;Finally,households are selected according to the principle of randomness, and one person per household is selected as the subject of investigation.2.Survey methods and questionnaires: in-home investigation and on-site investigation were used in public places. The questionnaire was based on “Survey questionnaire on the health status of urban residents in2016” of “The Behavior Model of Self-quit Smoking: A Study of Group-based Policy Evidence.”prepared by the group of Zhejiang University.General demographic characteristics of the male population, smoking related to male smokers, smoking cessation related to male smokers, and environmental constraints on smoking and smoking cessation were included in the questionnaire.3.Analysis method: software SPSS19.0 was used to analyze the survey data, descriptive analysis was conducted in subjects' age, educational level, occupation, family per capita income, marital status and other general demographic characteristics,as well as the population's smoking behavior and smoking cessation behavior. The single factor 2 test and multi-factorlogistic regression analysis were used to determine the influence factors of smoking status and smoking intention. After the treatment of the data of this study, the research team further explored and analyzed the smoking, willingness to quit and behavior and its influencing factors, and proposed corresponding countermeasures.Result1.Overall overview: A total of 1034 people were surveyed and 1001 valid questionnaires were collected. The minimum age of the respondents was 15 years old,the maximum age was 93 years old,and the average age was 37.65 ± 14.65 years old. There are 537 male smokers and 435 current smokers. The average age of current smokers is 40.84 ± 13.15 years.Today,147 smokers have quit smoking experience and 102 successful smokers quit smoking. At present,195 people intend to quit smoking, and 44.83 % of smokers have the intention to quit smoking.2.Smoking: The smoking rate of the participants in the survey was53.65 %.The smoking rate is now 43.46 %.The median age of initial smoking was 18.00 years and the interquartile range was 4.00 years; The median number of smoking years is 19.00,and the quartile spacing is 20.00;The median daily smoking volume is 15.00 and the quartile spacing is10.00.3.Analysis of the influencing factors of smoking behavior: Age is theinfluencing factor that affects smoking behavior. The difference is statistically significant.Smoking behavior decreases with age,OR=0.674(95%CI:0.559~0.812);The difference between education level and smoking behavior is statistically significant. With education level increasing, smoking behavior gradually decreases,OR=0.690(95%CI:0.592~0.805);The difference in occupation and the difference in smoking behavior are statistically significant.Compared with students, retirees have the highest smoking behavior; With the increase in exposure to secondhand smoke for more than 15 minutes per week, smoking increased,OR=1.542(95%CI:1.388~1.713);It is believed that the difference between the current cigarette price and the difference in smoking behavior is statistically significant. It is believed that the current price of cigarettes is higher than that of the current price of cigarettes,OR = 1.463(95 % CI:1.153-1.857).4.Analysis of factors influencing the willingness to quit: There is a statistically significant difference between the daily smoking and whether the smoker has the willingness to quit. With the increase of daily smoking, the willingness to quit is reduced,OR=0.564(95%CI : 0.393~0.810).Whether to notice the warning on cigarette packet or not in the last month is a factor.Smokers who did not notice the warning on the cigarette box were less likely to quit than smokers who had noticed the warning,OR=0.350(95%CI : 0.159~0.770).The difference between the family'ssmoking regulations and the smokers' willingness to quit is statistically significant. The less restrictions the family has on smoking, the lower the willingness to quit,OR=0.678(95%CI : 0.503~0.915).Whether there is a difference between smoking because of the current high price of tobacco and the willingness to quit is statistically significant. The smokers who have reduced the amount of smoking due to the current high price of tobacco have higher willingness to quit,OR=2.250(95%CI:1.533~3.303).Whether there are more than three smoking cessation experiences is the influencing factor of the willingness to quit smoking. Those who have not experienced smoking cessation more than three times have a lower willingness to quit than those who have had more than three quit smoking experiences,OR=0.427(95%CI:0.281~0.680).5.Smoking cessation behavior: The smoking cessation rate of males aged 15 and over in Chongqing main urban area was 46.37%,and the success rate of smoking cessation was 40.96%.Among the quitters, the maximum number of people who quit smoking due to “illness” is 83(33.34%);the number of people who quit smoking by their perseverance is239(95.98%),and 135 of those who quit smoking are not willing to accept smoking cessation services(54.22%).Next,there were 71 people who were willing to quit smoking treatment(28.51%),83 people(33.34%)who knew that they had a smoking cessation clinic in their city, and 14(5.62%)who had smokers in the smoking cessation clinic. There were 54(21.69%)quitters who knew that they had a smoking cessation hotline in their city, and 13(5.22%)who quit smoking quitlines.107 patients indicated that they were willing to accept doctors' smoking cessation services(74.31%).Conclusion1.Half of the respondents started their smoking age before the age of18,suggesting that tobacco control intervention should be strengthened for minors under 18 years of age.2.The older age and higher education are the protective factors for smoking behavior.Compared with students, smoking behavior is higher in other occupations(except for never being employed). The more secondhand smoke exposure to secondhand smoke for more than 15 minutes per week and the more the current cigarette price are considered to be risk factors for smoking behavior.3.Low daily smoking, notice of warnings on cigarette packs in the last month, family smoking regulations, and three or more smoking cessation experiences are protective factors for smoking cessation. The number of smoking has basically not changed after the price increased, and no reduction in smoking due to the current high price of smoking is a risk factor for smoking cessation.4.Quitting smokers almost always rely on their own perseverance to quit smoking. The attendance rate of smoking cessation clinics and theawareness of smoking cessation hotlines in their cities is low. Most of the sick smokers are willing to accept doctors' smoking cessation services when they are sick.
