The Correlation Between RDW,MPV And The Severity Of OSAS

Objective:We will explore the correlation between OSAS related blood inflammatory markers—Red cell distribution width(RDW),mean platelet volume(MPV)and severity of OSAS condition.Methods:This article adopts a retrospective study.This study consisted of 169 suspected OSAS patients who had undergone Polysomnography(PSG)in our outpatient or hospitalization from August 2017 to January 2020.Among them,55 cases were female and 114 cases were male.And collect all the blood routine information of the selected population.Based on apnea-hypopnea index(AHI),Inclusion groups divided into normal groups(AHI<5/h,41 cases),Mild group(AHI 5-15/h,38 cases),Medium Group(AHI 15-30/h,40 cases)and Severe group(AHI≥30/h,50 cases).Collection of PSG and blood routine related indicator—Red cell distribution width(RDW),neutrophil absolute value(ANC),platelet count(PLT),lymphocyte absolute value(ALC)and platelet average volume(MPV)were collected.Results:RDW:Moderate(13.58±2.98),severe(14.43±1.68)were higher than the normal(12.68±0.51)groups.The severe group was higher than the moderate group group,difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05);While the mild group(13.10±2.18)RDW higher than the normal group,and there was no significant difference between mild and moderate groups(all P>0.05).There was a positive correlation between RDW and AHI(P<0.05).ROC curves analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)score was 0.692 for RDW,sensitivity was 47.2%,specificity was 95.0%.MPV:Mild group(10.35±0.95),moderate group(11.12±0.97),severe group(11.29±1.40)were higher than the normal group(9.72±1.62).The moderate group and the severe group were higher than the mild group,difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05);There was a positive correlation between MPV and AHI(P<0.05).ROC curves analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)score was 0.731 for MPV,sensitivity was 96.9%,specificity was 40.0%.NLR and PLR:The NLR and PLR value decreased with the increase of disease severity,but there was no significant difference(all P>0.05).Conclusion:RDW and MPV is closely related to the progression of OSAS disease and is correlated with AHI.Both have important predictive value to judge the severity of OSAS patients.
