Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of microwave ablation and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)for the treatment of primary liver cancer(stage Ia,Ib)in Qinghai area. Methods:To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of patients with primary liver cancer who underwent microwave ablation and TACE from January 2014 to December 2019 in the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University, and explore the clinical efficacy comparison of TACE and microwave ablation for primary liver cancer in Qinghai.Provide a basis for the treatment of early primary liver cancer in Qinghai. Results:The general condition and clinical indicators of the two groups of patients with earlyprimaryliver cancer in Qinghai area were not statisticallysignificant(P>0.05).The changes of some liver functions before and after o peration in the microwave ablation group and TACEgroup were statisticallysignificant(P<0.05).The changes of liver function in the two groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The liver function in the microwave ablation group was significantly better than that in the TACE group. In the analysis of postoperative follow-up,the recurrence rate of TACE group was significantly higher than that of microwave ablation group within 3months(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between TACE group and microwave ablation group within 6 months and 12 months(P>0.05).The overall progression free survival rate within 12 months in the microwave ablation group was significantly better than that in the TACE group(P < 0.05).It was found in the follow-up after operation,The 1-year and 3-year survival rates were 79.7% and 27.0%in TACE group,96.6% and 37.9% in microwave group, respectively. The median survival time was 18 months in TACE group and 25 months in microwave group. The postoperative overall survival rate of the microwave ablation group was significantly higher than that of the TACE group, with statistical significance(P=0.004).In conclusion, the overall survival rate of the patients with early primary liver cancer after microwave ablation was significantly higher than that of the TACE group. Conclusion:In this single-center study,it was found that the tumor recurrence rate after microwave ablation for 1 year was lower than that of TACE.In this single-center study, the progression-free survival rate of microwave ablation at 3 years was better than that of TACE. |
