| Objective: To analyze the characteristics of ABR and DPOAE for the patients with unilateral sudden deafness whose pure tone audiometry returned to normal after treatment, explore the clinical application value of objective audiometry in the patients with sudden deafness whose pure tone audiometry returned to normal, and provide a theoretical basis for prognostic evaluation and taking targeted treatment measures in a timely manner. Methods: 50 patients(50 ears, case group)with unilateral sudden deafness aged from 18 to 60 whose pure tone audiometry returned to normal after treatment were selected from the otolaryngology department of Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital, and they conformed to the diagnosis standards of Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Sudden Deafness in 2015.They were conducted with DPOAE and ABR tests. Then their DPOAE detection rate, amplitude and ABR latency period, interpeak latency results were compared with 50 cases(50 ears, control group)with normal hearing for statistical analysis, and the differences between the two groups were compared. Results: 1.There was no significant difference in pure tone audiometry between the case group and control group(P>0.05);2.There was no significant difference in the detection rate and amplitude of DPOAE between the two groups(P>0.05);3.The incubation period of the ABR I wave was(1.51±0.24)ms in the case group was longer than that in the control group whose ABR I wave was(1.40±0.22)ms(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant;and there was no statistically significant difference in the incubation period and interpeak latency of the other waves. Conclusion: The patients with unilateral sudden deafness aged from 18 to60 whose pure tone audiometry returned to normal after treatment had a longer ABR I wave incubation period than the control group, indicating that the patients with unilateral sudden deafness could still have damage between the cochlea and the auditory nerve even if their pure tone audiometry returned to normal, and ABR was of important clinical significance to these patients’ locating diagnosis and treatment and prognosis evaluation, thus providing a theoretical basis for early intervention. |
