Objective:In order to systematically evaluate the effects of chewing gum on the recovery of intestinal function after cesarean section, compare the effects of chewing gum for different durations on the recovery of intestinal function after cesarean section,so as to explore the feasibility and the most appropriate time of chewing gum after cesarean section. Methods:Pub Med,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang database and VIP database were searched, and randomized controlled trials on the effects of chewing gum and standard nursing on intestinal function recovery after cesarean section were included.Rev Man5.2 software was used to evaluate the literature quality,Stata14.0 software was used to process the data, and renet-based Meta was selected for systematic evaluation.Main Outcome Indicators: First exhaust time;Secondary outcome indicators: time of first defecation and time of first bowel sounds. Results:A total of 22 randomized controlled trials involving 3468 patients were included in this study.A mesh meta-analysis showed that chewing gum was more beneficial for recovery of intestinal function after cesarean section than a standard diet.By observing the three clinical indicators of the first exhaust time, the first defecation time and the first bowel sound time, the forest chart showed that there was no statistical significance between chewing gum for less than half an hour and chewing gum for more than half an hour, and the difference between the two durations had almost no effect on the recovery of intestinal function. However, according to the area of the cumulative sorting curve in the reticulated Meta,it can be roughly estimated that controlling the duration of chewing within half an hour may be the best measure to promote intestinal recovery. Conclusion:Chewing gum can promote the recovery of intestinal function after cesarean section, shorten the postoperative exhaust time and the recovery time of intestinal sounds. This safe and economic treatment method can be used as a routine clinical treatment.Chewing gum for less than half an hour is beneficial, but more rigorous randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the optimal chewing time.
