| Purpose:By observing the clinical efficiacy of the herbal-cake partitioned moxibustion works on the Yang deficiency and cold coagulation type of patients with bone metastasis, accessing the combined therapy was superior or not than the oral Oxycontin alone, and wether if it was allowed faster achievement of pain control than oral Oxycontin. Also, the breakthrough pain, the impact on the functioning,KPS and the adverse reactions were analysed. Those results would be regarded as the objective references, for involving traditional Chinese medicine therapy in Bone metastasis cancer pain treatment.Method:In a 10-day randomized controlled study, adults diagnosed as bone metastasis with moderate cancer pain were assigned to receive either Oxycontin or Oxycontin combined with herbal-cake partitioned moxibustion. The primary outcome was the differences of before and after treatment about the numerical rating scales, brief pain inventory, breakthrough pain and adverse reactions.Results:1、Total 63 patients were involved in the study. One cases fell out of the observation group. And two cases fell out of the control group.Finally,60 patients completed the clinical observation, with the falling rate of 4.3%.2、Pain relief: After treatment, the numberical rating scales were significantly decreased in both two groups(P<0.001),but no significant differences were found between two groups in the numberical rating scale(P>0.05).The pain relief of 86.7% in the observation group, and of 76.7% in the control group, but there were no significant differences founded in between(P>0.05).3、Pain control: After 3-day titration, the observation group required the lower therapeutic dose of "Oxycontin" than the control group. And also the daily average usage of "Oxycontin" in the observation group was less the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The count of breakthrough pain and the rescue opioid doses in the observation group were less than that of the control group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).4、Impact of pain: After treatment, the observation group had a decrease in brief pain inventory scales more the control group, and the significant differences were found between the two groups(P<0.05).5、TCM symdromes: According to the TCM symptom score, the observation group had a better symdromes improvement after treatment than the control group. In some of the symptoms like pain with cold sensation and cold induced pain aggravation, the observation group improved more than the control group, with statistical significance(P< 0.05).6、Quality of life: After treatment, the KPS score, respectively was improved in 53.3% of the participants in the observation group, and in 30% of that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).7、Safety indicators and adverse events: The occurrence of adverse reactions was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1、The combined analgesic methods had a better tendency to improved the pain, compared to the oral Oxycontin alone.2、The combined analgesic methods allowed a lower usage of the "Oxycontin".3、The combined analgesic methonds can reduced the count of breakthough pain, and optimized the analgesic treatment experience.4、The combined analgesic methods can lower the interference of pain in the patient’s life, and improved patients’ quality of life.5、The combined analgesic methods can improve the related symdromes.6、The combined analgesic methods are safe, effective and easy to operate, and has clinical value and popularizing significance. |
