Clinical Observation On Treating Patellofemoral Arthritis With Foot Yangming Meridian Tendon Row Needling Plus Electroacupuncture

Objective: The patellofemoral arthritis of patella outward tilt displacement type was treated by puncturing the tendons of Foot Yangming Meridian of knee joint and local electroacupuncture.Compared with the simple local acupuncture treatment,we observed and compared their curative effects,and further explored the optimal scheme of acupuncture treatment of this disease.Methods: 74 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,37 cases in each group.The control group was treated with acupuncture on the affected side,including inner knee eye,outer knee eye,Xuehai,Liangqiu and Yanglingquan.On the basis of the control group,the treatment group was divided into two rows of acupuncture,one from heding to Jimen,and the other from Liangqiu to futu.The two rows are divided into four equal parts,5 points in one row,10 points in total.Electroacupuncture was applied before and after the two rows of acupuncture and at the inner and outer knee eyes for 30 minutes.The total score of Lysholm scale,patellar inclination angle and TCM diagnostic criteria were selected as the treatment indexes to evaluate the curative effect,and the differences between the two methods were compared.Results:(1)A total of 70 cases were completed in this trial,including 1 case in the treatment group,1case of shedding,and 2 cases in the control group.There was no significant difference in general information such as gender,age,course of disease,Lysholm Scale total score and patellar inclination angle between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),which was comparable;(2)After treatment,Lysholm Scale total score and patellar inclination angle of the two groups were compared within the group,and there were significant differences compared with before treatment(P < 0.05),(3)After treatment,there were significant differences between the two groups in Lysholm Scale total score and patellar inclination angle(P < 0.05),The results showed that the improvement of the overall clinical symptoms of the treatment group was better than that of the control group,and it had advantages in promoting the outward tilt displacement of the patella to return to the normal physiological position;(4)After treatment,the cure rate of the treatment group was%,and that of the control group was%.According to the comparison of the cure rates of the two groups,P < 0.05,it showed that the treatment effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.Conclusion: According to the tendon row needling of Foot Yangming meridians around the knee joint combined with electric acupuncture stimulation and local acupuncture,it can effectively regulate the abnormal biomechanics of quadriceps femoris and knee joint,promote outward tilt displacement,restore the normal physiological position of patella,improve the clinical symptoms of patients,and effectively improve the cure rate of patients.Therefore,it is an effective method to treat patellofemoral arthritis of outward tilt displacement type by needling the tendons of Foot Yangming Meridian around the knee joint plus Electroacupuncture Stimulation Combined with local acupuncture,which is worthy of clinical application.
