purposeTo observe the clinical efficacy and safety of external application of Xiaoyan No.1plaster combined with external fixation of small splint in the treatment of distal radius fracture in elderly patients after closed reduction of distal radius fracture by manipulation.methodsPatients aged 60--75 years old who were admitted to the orthopedics and traumatology outpatient and inpatient departments for distal radius fractures from December 2018 to January 2020 were selected, and those patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the trial group and the control group. Both groups were treated with closed reduction of fracture manipulation. The experimental group was treated with external application of anti-inflammatory No.1 ointment combined with small splint external fixation for 4-6 weeks, while the control group was treated with small splint external fixation for 4-6weeks.Patients in both groups received oral calcitriol anti-osteoporosis treatment.VAS score and wrist diameter were measured on the day,3 days and 1 week after reduction and fixation, and wrist range of motion and Gartland-Werley wrist score were measured at 8 weeks after treatment, and the results were compared and statistically analyzed. The results of1.Comparison of VAS scores: both treatment methods could relieve patients’ wrist pain(intra-group comparison,P<0.05);In terms of improvement degree, the efficacy of the experimental group was better than that of the control group(comparison between groups,P<0.05).2.Comparison of wrist circumference: both treatment methods were beneficial to the subsidence of wrist soft tissue swelling(intra-group comparison,P<0.05);The improvement degree of the experimental group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).3.Comparison of wrist range of motion: Comparison of wrist range of motion between the two groups after 8 weeks of treatment,P<0.05,indicating that the difference of wrist range of motion between the two groups after 8 weeks of treatment was statistically significant, and the experimental group was better than the control group.4.Comparison of G-W wrist score: Both treatment methods could improve G-W wrist score of patients, and the overall effect was similar.Co mparison between groups was P>0.05;There was no statistically significant difference in G-W score between the experimental group and the control group.5.Comparison of the total efficacy of the two groups: the effective rate of the experimental group was 93.33%,and the effective rate of the control group was 86.67%;Chi-square test was used to analyze the total efficacy of the two groups,P >0.05,indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in efficacy between the experimental group and the control group, and the effective rate of the experimental group was not found to be significantly better than that of the control group.conclusionAfter manual closed reduction of distal radius fracture, the application of anti-inflammatory paste No.1 combined with small splint external fixation for the treatment of distal radius fracture in elderly patients has significantly better efficacy in improving wrist pain and soft tissue swelling in the early stage of fracture than small splint external fixation, and the comparison of total efficacy between the two in the late stage of fracture is similar. |
