When an emergency occurs, the public’s mutual aid helps to achieve greater survival for those in danger. However, due to lack of first aid knowledge and neglect of first aid facilities in public places, the status of public mutual aid is not optimistic. Therefore, this research will focus on the first aid facilities in public places, and start from the design level to increase the public participation in mutual aid.The purpose of this research is to propose the design strategy of the guidance method of first-aid facilities in public places so as to enhance the guiding effect of them,in order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of user operations. In this research, qualitative and quantitative research methods were both used to make the results more persuasive through the support of the research data. The research process is divided into three sections. The first section is to summarize the existing guidance methods, and then compare their performance by qualitative analysis process and quantitative experimental test after determining the evaluation criteria of efficiency and accuracy through literature research method. The second section studies the characteristics and impact of relevant factors(product, environment and target population)of the scenario using several kinds of methods such as questionnaires, observations and interviews. The third section is to propose the theoretical conclusions of this research, which includes two parts. One is the selection and application strategy of guidance methods, which formed through excluding the unsuitable guidance methods in this scene and clearing the main method as guiding users by restricting their operation, then making category discussions of the way to choose ancillary guidance methods based on different contents of guiding information. The other is the design strategy of manifestation whose role is to reduce the effect at cognitive, physical and psychological level of users made by relevant factors. Finally, the theoretical conclusions are applied in the design practice,as well as considering outward appearance, maintenance methods et cetera,in order to form a complete design of the automatic external defibrillation facility which set in subway stations. |
